Shri. Yakub Saydeed former Director Mumbai Doordarshan has achieved Doctorate from Savitribai Phule Pune University at the age of 83. He submitted thesis on 'Contribution of Urdu Literature in Indian Cinema' . This thesis will be published in Marathi and Hindi in the form of book in future.
In All India Radio he worked as Head of different departments and his contribution to radio was well appreciated. For Mumbai Doordarshan he produced and directed a famous Marathi comedy serial 'Has Parihas'. In 1992 he retired as Director from Doordarshan Kolkatta. His acting in Marathi film 'Natrang' and Hindi movies 'Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Jolly L.L.B.2 was admired by viewers.
