Feb 13, 2017 10:58 AM 13 February is celebrated as World Radio Day. Officially proposed by Spain, this day is about celebrating the importance of radio in our lives. On World Radio Day, we meet a city-based collector of the radio sets and his love for radio cannot be expressed in words.

Coimbatore based Abu Tahir grew up in a family who was trying to make ends meet. He recalls the days when he ate just one meal a day.This was the mid-day meal that was served in his school. The financial situation of his family prompted him his schooling and he found himself working as a mechanic in a bicycle repair shop. Abu admits that the radio had always fascinated him since he was a boy. His tryst with the radio had just begun then. Today, this 40-year old Coimboterian has a collection of nearly one hundred radio sets. A family man today, Abu is still trying to make ends meet but nothing stops him from collecting the nearly forgotten invention- the radio.“When I was in school, the radio was a luxury that only the rich could afford. I remember as a school boy how I used to peep into the window of the people’s homes and watch how they tuned the radio in their homes. I always wanted to own and use one and today, I have a collection of many antique pieces.” Abu says.

The year was 1992 and a young Abu was a bicycle mechanic in a repair shop. He managed some savings and he expressed his desire to his colleagues to purchase and own a radio set. A few days later, a scrap-dealer offered him a piece of radio that refused to play for rupees 30. It was big money for someone who has given up his studies in order to support his family. However, Abu purchased it without second thoughts. All for the love of radio! The new owner of this radio dismantled the set and tried all his best to make it work. However, all his efforts were in vain. It was only in the year 1996 that Abu got to learn that he is in possession of a ham radio. A jubilant Abu made up his mind that he will set aside funds to purchase and collect radio pieces that catch his eye and this trend continues even today.

Currently, Abu has about 70 pieces of radio and they include a variety. Ones like a single battery operated ones, single band radios, radios made of wood, teak wood and radio with three controls among other pieces have made it to his unique collection of radio sets. He shares with us that he sets aside rupees 1,500 every month in order to maintain his collection.“About three years ago, I was staying in a rented home. Heavy rains damaged 50 radio sets of my collection. I was unable to eat and sleep for several days. Several days later, I got over it and I take precautionary measures to protect my collection.” Abu says.Currently, he works as a driver and in his free time Abu reads a lot of literature about radios and their operation. He is not a technology savvy person and a majority of his learning takes place by talking to people and reading the printed books.

“I love chatting with the older persons and they educate me about radio. It was from an age old gentleman that I got to know that radio sets manufactured by the Philips company are the best. This old gentleman told me that radio sets manufactured under the Philips banner were known for their quality of sound and frequency accuracy.”Despite being in a situation where he is trying his best to make ends meet, Abu clarifies that his precious collection is not for sale. When given an opportunity to display his collection at trade shows, Abu grabs every opportunity that comes his way. During one of the trade exhibitions, Abu was offered a whooping sum of rupees two crores in exchange for his collection by a businessman. This he promptly turned down, and he clarifies that he will not let go of his collection, ....................

मित्रों,मुझे एक फ़िल्मी गीत बहुत पसंद है।जिसके बोल हैं; "ज़िन्दगी इक सफ़र है सुहाना,यहां कल क्या हो किसने जाना।"सचमुच जीवन में हम हर क्षण एक सफ़र पर होते हैं और वह सफ़र अगर सुहाना हो और नजारे हसीं हों तो क्या कहने ! आप जानते ही हैं कि जीवन के झमेले कम नहीं होते हैं इसलिए उसे प्यार की झप्पी और हिम्मत और हौसला देते रहने के लिए पर्यटन एक टानिक का काम करता है।साल में एक बार ही सही अपने परिवार के साथ घर से दूर जाइये और कुछ दिन वहां बिताइये ,निश्चित रुप में आप अद्वितीय आनन्द पाएंगे । अगर आपको अपने अंदर की घुमक्कड़ी प्रवृत्ति में कीर्तिमान रचना है तो बेहिचक आप एक बार अंडमान हो आइये । फ़िलहाल तो हम आपको लिए चलते हैं उसी जगह जहां इस साल के विंटर वेकेशन में हमने यात्रा की, यात्रा अंडमान की, सागर के 572 सुंदर द्वीपों, टापुओं की ,समुन्दर के अंदर छिपे ख़जानों को निकट से देखने की,वाटर स्पोर्ट्स के रोमांच की और पन्ने व मूंगे की चट्टानों के एक वृहत समूह और आदिम बस्ती की !

लखनऊ से कोलकता जाने-आने के लिए हमने शाम 7-35बजे छूटने वाली इंडिगो की फ्लाइट सं0 6E6716 तथा 6E339चुनी थी जिसमें इकोनोमी क्लास के रिटर्न टिकट हेतु हमें रु08,034/-प्रति टिकट देना पड़ा था ।रात21-15पर हम कोलकता एयरपोर्ट पहुंच गये थे।अगली सुबह 7-05बजे कोलकता से जेट एयरवेज की फ्लाइट संख्या 9W0963 की इकोनोमी श्रेणी से रु011,087/-प्रति व्यक्ति टिकट पर हमने पोर्ट ब्लेयर के लिए उड़ान भरी ।बंगाल की खाड़ी के नीले समुन्दर के ऊपर से होते हुए हम लोग लगभग 9-30बजे पोर्ट ब्लेयर हवाई अड्डे पर उतरे।हल्की बारिश ने हमारा स्वागत किया।मौसम बेहद सुहाना था।लोकल टूर आपरेटर टैक्सी के साथ एयरपोर्ट पर मौजूद मिला और हम होटल पहुंच गये।तय हुआ आज शाम को सेल्यूलर जेल देखा जाय और उसमें शाम 6बजे से होने वाला लाइट एंड साउंड शो भी शामिल था ।लेकिन पहले आपके साथ कुछ अंडमान की बात !
बंगाल की खाड़ी में स्थित और अंडमान सागर की जल सीमा से सटे अंडमान निकोबार द्वीप समूह 572 खूबसूरत द्वीपों, टापुओं और पन्ने व मूंगे की चट्टानों का एक वृहत समूह है। जीवन की आपाधापी में लोगों को जिन जगहों की तलाश रहती है वह है अंडमान जहां उन्हें शहरों के कोलाहल से प्रदूषण से अलग प्राकृतिक वातावरण से रूबरू होने का मौका मिलता है। जहां आप कुछ समय के लिए अपने आप को मनमोहक प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य से जुड़ा पा सकेंगे। जहां की आसपास की वादियां,बीच,सागर की लहरें आपके मन की सारी पीड़ा दूर कर सकेंगी । अंग्रेज़ी हुकूमत ने नाम तो इसका "काला पानी"रखा था लेकिन यह जगह अब प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य के हर एक पल को अपने दिलों में बसाने की चाह रखने वालों के लिए एकदम मुफीद है । अंडमान द्वीप की लुभावनी हसीन वादियां और तटों से टकराती सागर की लहरें इस द्वीप की जान हैं। प्रकृति ने इस जगह के पहाड़ों, नदियों और जंगलों के सौंदर्य को पूरी तरह से भरा-पूरा बनाया है। अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह भारत का एक केन्द्र शासित प्रदेश है। यह द्वीप बंगाल की खाड़ी के दक्षिण में हिन्द महासागर में स्थित है। यहां की राजधानी पोर्ट ब्लेयर है। 2001 में की गई जनगणना के अनुसार यहां की जनसंख्या 356152 है। पूरे क्षेत्र का कुल भूमि क्षेत्र लगभग 6496 किमी या 2508 वर्ग मील है।पुरातत्व प्रमाणों के आधार पर यह पता चला है कि अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में सबसे पहली बस्ती पाषाण युग के मध्य थी। कहा जाता है कि अंडमानी लोग अंडमान द्वीप के सबसे पहले निवासी थे। सन् 1850 तक अंडमानी बिलकुल अलग -थलग रहते थे। सन् 1850 के बाद ही वे लोग बाहरी दुनिया के संपर्क में आए। निकोबारी लोग निकोबार द्वीप के मूल निवासी थे। वे लोग निकोबार द्वीप समूह में शोंपेन के साथ रहते थे।
18 वीं सदी में अंग्रेजों के भारत में आने के बाद यह द्वीप वैश्विक परिदृश्य में उभरा। ब्रिटिश काल के दौरान इसे ‘कालापानी’ नाम दिया गया क्योंकि भारत की आजादी के दीवानों पर गंभीर आरोप लगाकर ब्रिटिश सरकार यहां कैद रखती थी। इस खूबसूरत द्वीप को एक ‘दंड काॅलोनी’ में बदल दिया गया था जहां आजीवन कैद काटने वालों को बंद रखा जाता था। लेकिन आज़ादी के बाद यह परिदृश्य बड़े पैमाने पर बदला है। शुरुआत में इस द्वीप समूह पर जाना वर्जित था और प्रतिष्ठित लोग इस द्वीप पर जाना नापसंद करते थे। लेकिन आज अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह भारत के पर्यटन का सबसे ज्यादा पसंदीदा स्थान है। यहां मौजूद कई आकर्षक स्थानों ने इस जगह के पर्यटन में बहुत बढ़ावा किया है।अंडमान द्वीप की कुछ बेहद ख़ास जगहें हैं;लांग आईलैंड,नील द्वीप,रंगत डिगलीपुर,मायाबंदर,लिटिल अंडमान द्वीप समूह, आदि।और इसी तरह निकोबार द्वीप में
कच्छलकार ,निकोबारग्रेट ,निकोबार, आदि जगहें ज़रुर देखनी चाहिए।अंडमान की राजधानी पोर्ट ब्लेयर में देखने वाली जगहें हैं-भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास का मूक साक्षी सेल्यूलर जेल,मेरीना पार्क,राजीव गांधी वाटर स्पोर्ट्स स्टेडियम,चाथम स्थित गवर्मेन्ट सा मिल,अबरडीन बाज़ार का घंटाघर,मानव विज्ञान संग्रहालय,समुद्रिका संग्रहालय,मिनी चिड़ियाघर,जीव प्राणी संग्रहालय,जागर्स और गांधी पार्क,चिड़िया टापू,दक्षिणी अंडमान की सबसे ऊंची पर्वत श्रृंखला माउंट हेरियट आदि।
अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप में कई आदिवासी जनजातियां अब भी अपने स्वाभाविक परिवेश में रहती हैं ।पिछली सुनामी में उनके आवास उजड़ चुके थे जिन्हें सरकार ने मरम्मत करवा दिए हैं।अंडमान के मुख्य द्वीपों में लैंड फाॅल द्वीप, मिडिल अंडमान, दक्षिण अंडमान, पोर्ट ब्लेयर और लिटिल अंडमान हैं। निकोबार दक्षिण में स्थित है और इसमें कार निकोबार, ग्रेट निकोबार, छोवरा, टेरेसा, ननकोवायर, कच्छल और लिटिल निकोबार शामिल हैं। द्वीपों में 12 द्वीप, खासकर कार निकोबार उत्तर में बसे हुए हैं जबकि ग्रेट निकोबार जो सबसे बड़ा और दक्षिणी छोर पर स्थित द्वीप है वह लगभग जनशून्य है।
इन द्वीपों के अस्तित्व के बारे में पहली जानकारी 9 वीं शताब्दी में अरब व्यापारियों से मिली थी जो सुमात्रा जाते समय इन द्वीपों के रास्ते यहां से गुजरे थे। यहां आने वाला पहला पश्चिमी व्यक्ति मार्को पोलो था जिसने इस जगह को ‘लैंड आॅफ हैड हंटर’ कहा था। 17 वीं सदी के अंत में मराठों ने इन द्वीपों पर कब्जा कर लिया। 18वीं शताब्दी की शुरुआत में यह बार बार ब्रिटिश, डच और पुर्तगाली व्यापारी जहाजोें पर कब्जा करने वाले मराठा एडमिरल कान्होजी आंग्रे का ठिकाना बन गया था। सन् 1729 में हुई आंग्रे की मृत्यु तक भी ब्रिटिश और पुर्तगाली नौसेना मिलकर भी आंग्रे को हरा नहीं पाई थी। सन् 1869 में अंग्रेजों ने निकोबार द्वीपों पर कब्जा कर लिया और उन्हें सन् 1872 में एक प्रशासनिक इकाई बनाने के लिए अंडमान द्वीपों से जोड़ दिया गया। सन् 1942 में जापानी सेना ने द्वीपों पर कब्जा कर लिया जो सन् 1945 में विश्व युद्ध के अंत तक कायम रहा। बाद में सन् 1947 में ब्रिटिश शासन से भारत की आजादी के बाद इन द्वीपों का नियंत्रण भारत को सौंप दिया गया ।
समुद्र के पास स्थित होने के कारण अंडमान और निकोबार में पूरा साल तापमान सामान्य ही रहता है। 80 प्रतिशत की नमी के साथ समुद्री हवा तापमान को 23 डिग्री सेल्सियस से 31 डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच बनाए रखती है। इस द्वीप में मानसून की बरसात साल भर में अलग अलग चरणों में होती है। दक्षिण-पश्चिम हवाओं द्वारा लाया गया मानसून मध्य मई से शुरु होकर अक्टूबर की शुरुआत तक रहता है। इसके बाद डेढ़ महीने के अंतराल के बाद नवंबर में मानसून उत्तर-पूर्व से शुरु होता है और दिसंबर तक चलता है।
सन् 2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार देश के इन लोकप्रिय द्वीपों की आबादी 380381 है और इसका घनत्व 46 व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ग किलोमीटर का है। यहां का लिंग अनुपात 1000 पुरूषों के मुकाबले 878 महिलाओं का है।हम लोग ठिठुरती ठंढ में कोलकता से पोर्ट ब्लेयर के लिए उड़ान भरे थे।उन दिनों दिल्ली सहित उत्तरी भारत के लोग 6डिग्री तक के तापमान पर आकर ठिठुर रहे थे तब यहां पोर्टब्लेयर में ख़ूब अच्छी धूप खिली हुई थी ..कभी कभी चुभती सी भी..और तापमान..26-28डिग्री..इससे ज्यादा तापमान हुआ तो यहां बादल महाराज कृपा कर देते हैं और बरस भी देते हैं..सो छाता हर समय साथ रखना पड़ता है..और हां इन दिनों यहां आम के पेड़ पर आम भी दिख रहे थे..खिली धूप,प्रकृति का कोमल अक्लांत रुप और पर्यटकों के खिले खिले चेहरे..।

सेल्यूलर जेल

जब मैनें अपनी यात्रा की शुरुआत की थी तो मेरे मित्र पूर्व समाचार वाचक श्री नवनीत मिश्र की एक बात मुझे याद आ गई जिसे आपसे शेयर करना चाहूंगा।उन्होंने कहा था कि हर भारतीय को अपने जीवन में एक बार सेल्यूलर जेल अवश्य देखनी चाहिए जिससे वह जान सके कि देश को आज़ादी सेंती(मुफ़्त)में नहीं मिली है।हमारे आज़ादी के दीवानों ने कितनी और कैसी कैसी यंत्रणाओं को झेला है।इस जेल को देखकर और इस पर बने लाइट और साउन्ड कार्यक्रम को सुनकर मन आकुल व्याकुल हो उठता है।कदाचित अंग्रेज़ी हुकूमत द्वारा की गई बर्बरता के ख़िलाफ भी।अंग्रेजी सरकार द्वारा भारत के स्वतंत्रता सैनानियों पर किए गए अत्याचारों की मूक गवाह इस जेल की नींव 1897 में रखी गई थी। इस जेल के अंदर 694 कोठरियां हैं। इन कोठरियों को बनाने का उद्देश्य बंदियों के आपसी मेल जोल को रोकना था। आक्टोपस की तरह सात शाखाओं में फैली इस विशाल कारागार के अब केवल तीन अंश बचे हैं। कारागार की दीवारों पर वीर शहीदों के नाम लिखे हैं।जेल के सामने शहीद पार्क में उन 6महान क्रान्तिकारियों की मूर्तियां देखी जा सकती हैं जिन्होंने जान जाय पर आजादी की मांग न जाय के लिए अपनी कुर्बानी दे दी।वे हैं शहीद इन्द्र भूषण राय,सरदार भान सिंह,पंडित राम रक्खा,महावीर सिंह,मोहित मित्रा और मोहन किशोर नमो दास। यहां एक संग्रहालय भी है जहां उन अस्त्रों को देखा जा सकता है जिनसे स्वतंत्रता सैनानियों पर अत्याचार किए जाते थे।विनायक दामोदर सावरकर हिंदुस्तान की आजादी के लिये अपने जीवन को कुर्बान कर गये ।ब्रिटिश राज में काला पानी की इस जेल का इतना खौफ था जितना कि फांसी या गोली मार देने का नही था । एकांत कारावास ही एकमात्र यातना नही थी उससे भी बडी यातना थी कोल्हू तेल की घानी । बंदियो से जो काम यहां पर कराये जाते थे उसमें से ये सबसे कठिन काम था । इसके कारण कई बंदी मर गये और कई का मानसिक संतुलन खराब हो गया । कोल्हू के बैल की तरह इसमें बंदियो को जोता जाता था । इससे मना करने पर उन्हे बैल की तरह ही डंडे से बांधकर पिटाई की जाती थी । इस कोल्हू की घानी के कारण ही इस जेल में विद्रोह हो पाया ।जहां पर इन दिनों लाइट और साउंड शो दिखाया जाता है उसी स्थल पर कोल्हू की घानी के अलावा नारियल की रस्सी बुनना , रस्सी बनाना , छिलके कूटने जैसे और भी काम थे जिन्हे कैदियों को निर्धारित समय व लक्ष्य के साथ पूरा करना पडता था । जो कैदी विरोध करते थे उन्हे तिरस्कृत कोठरी में रखा जाता था । मौत की सजा पाये कैदियो को भी फांसी की सजा हो जाने तक इन कोठरियो में रखा जाता था । इन कोठरियो के सामने ही फांसी घर था और वे कैदी सिर्फ फांसीघर को ही देखते रहते थे । वीर सावरकर को भी ऐसी ही तिरस्कृत कोठरी में रखा गया था । उस वीर शहीद की कोठरी को देखने के बाद कठोर से कठोर हृदय भी भावुक हो जाते हैं। कालापानी सम्बोधन देशनिकाला का पर्याय था । ऐसा स्थान जहां से एक बार जाने के बाद कोई वापस नही आ सकता था ।उसे भले फांसी ना मिले पर उसे वहीं पर मरना था । उस जमाने में इस द्वीप पर पहुंचना भी बहुत मुश्किल था और केवल सरकारी पानी के जहाज से ही कोई जा सकता था जो कि सरकारी नियंत्रण में थे । वैसे यहां पर बंदियो को रखा गया इससे ब्रिटिशो को दो फायदे होने वाले थे । तूफान में फंसे या यात्रा में रूकने के लिये ब्रिटेन से आने वाले जहाजो को यहां पर रूकाया जा सकता था पर तभी जब कोई स्थायी बस्ती इस द्धीप पर रहती हो और उस समय यहां पर कोई भी रहने के लिये तैयार नही होता तो बंदियो को लाने की वजह से यहां पर वो संभव हो पाया । बंदी आये तो उनको संभालने के लिये सैनिक , जेलर और अन्य कामो के लिये ब्रिटेन और भारत के लोगो को लाया गया और बन गयी यहां पर स्थायी बस्ती । जब तक इसका निर्माण नहीं हुआ था कैदियों को चाथम द्वीप के सा मिल परिसर में रखा गया ।
सबसे पहले 200 स्वतंत्रता सेनानियो को यहां पर लाया गया । एक क्रूरतम सजा में यहां के बंदियो पर और ज्यादा अत्याचार करने के लिये चेन गैंग बनाया गया । इसमें कई कैदियो को एक चैन से दिन रात बांधकर रखा जाता था । बताते हैं कि कैदियों की संख्या ज्यादाहोने पर वाइपर और रोज द्धीप पर भी जेलो का निर्माण कराया गया । एक बार यहां से दो सौ से ज्यादा कैदियो ने भागने की कोशिश की जिनमें से ज्यादतर कैदी भागने की कोशिश के दौरान मर गये और जो पकड़े गये उन सभी को एक ​ही दिन और समय में फांसी पर लटका दिया गया । कई बार तो यहां के आदिवासियो ने इन बस्तियो पर आक्रमण किया और उसमें भी बंदी ही मारे गये । कई सालो के बाद थोड़ी बहुत हड़ताल की शुरूआत हुई और उसके बाद जब अंडमान के ​यातनाओ के किस्से बाहर आने लगे तो विरोध प्रदर्शनो की भी शुरूआत हो गयी । हड़ताल को खत्म कराने के लिये उन सभी के मुंह में जबरदस्ती खाना ठूंसा गया लेकिन फिर भी कई राजनीतिक बंदियो की मृत्यु हो गयी । बहुत विरोध प्रदर्शनो के बाद कहीं जाकर वहां से ब्रिटिश सरकार ने वहां से बचे हुए रा​जनीतिक बंदियो को वापस बुला लिया गया । तब जाकर ये देश निकाला प्रथा समाप्त हुई ।
शाम ढल चुकी थी,रात उतरने लगी थी।हम लोग अब वापस होटल आ गये और रात का भोजन लेकर नींद की बाहों में चले गये।नींद ...लेकिन आज नींद आ क्यों नहीं रही है..शायद अब भी सेल्यूलर जेल के भयानक बैरक और यातना गृह ज़ेहन में हैं !
अपने जीवन की यह एक और नई सुबह थी ,एक बेहद खुशनुमा मौसम में हम अंडमान की धरती पर विचरण कर रहे थे,क़ैदी बन कर नहीं सैलानी बन कर ।आज हमें लोकल पर्यटन स्थल देखने हैं।

प्रदेश के पर्यावरण और वन विभाग के नियंत्रण में काम कर रही इस सा मिल का ऐतिहासिक महत्व रहा है।इसका प्रवेश शुल्क दस रुपये है और यदि आपको गाइड लेना है तो उसका शुल्क अलग है।पोर्ट ब्लेयर प्रवास की अपनी अंतिम सुबह थी जब हम चाथम सा मिल देखने गये।इसका इतिहास सेल्युलर जेल बनने से भी पहले का है।पहले निजी स्वामित्व में था अब सरकारी।पहले चाथम आइलैन्ड हुआ करता था किन्तु द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध में जब इस पर भी बमबारी हुई तो यह क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया ।अब एक पुल के जरिये यह शहर से जुड़ा है।यहां नेताजी सुभाष चन्द्र बोस भी आजादी से पहले आ चुके हैं।इसी परिसर में शुरुआत में भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में बन्द आन्दोलन कारियों को लाया गया था फिर उन्हें सेल्युलर जेल बनने पर शिफ्ट किया गया।अब भी इस मिल में हजारों लोग काम कर रहे हैं।इसके चारो ओर समुद्र है।मनोरम दृश्य है।
अंडमान प्रवास (पोर्ट ब्लेयर)की दूसरी रात।हमनें तलाश लिया है अपनी पसंद का शुद्ध शाकाहारी पंजाबी ढाबा जो कम लोकप्रिय है।उचित मूल्य पर भरपेट भोजन सुलभ हुआ।अगली सुबह हैवलाक द्वीप की तैयारी।वही हैवलाक जहां दिसम्बर में भारी बरसात और तूफान के चलते कुछ दिन पर्यटक फंस गये थे और जो पिछले दिनों काफ़ी सुर्खियों में रहा ।

हैवलॉक द्वीप-ख़ूबसूरत ख़्वाब का हक़ीकत में तब्दील होना !

यात्रा का तीसरा दिन।पोर्ट ब्लेयर से हैवलाक जाने के लिए सुबह 7 बजे हम बंदरगाह पर थे ।मरकज़ नामक डबल डेकर पानी के जहाज से हम सुबह 8बजे रवाना हुए और 9-30बजे हैवलाक पहुंचे।डिलक्स श्रेणी प्रति टिकट रु01400/-देना पड़ा और लगभग सभी औपचारिकताएं एयरपोर्ट जैसी ही निभानी पड़ी ।बंदरगाह पर लोकल ट्रेवेल एजेंट टैक्सी सहित मिला ।अब हम हैवलाक के समुद्री तट से काटेज में आ चुके हैं।पहले कुछ जानकारी । इस स्थान का नाम अंग्रेज़ हुकूमत के प्रधान हेनरी हैवलॉक के नाम पर रखा गयाहै। यह अंडमान का प्रमुख पर्यटक स्थल है और हर साल हजारों की संख्या में सैलानी इसे देखने आते हैं। यहाँ के पांचों गाँव गोविन्द नगर, राधा नगर, बिजोय नगर, शाम नगर, और कृष्णा नगर के समुंद्री तट अपने आप में बहुत अलग है। यहाँ का राधा नगर समुंद्री तट सब से बढ़िया समुंद्री तट है और 2004 में टाइम पत्रिका ने इसे एशिया का सबसे बेहतरीन तट घोषित किया है।
पोर्ट ब्लेयर से 55 कि.मी दूर और उत्तरी पूर्वी दिशा में स्थित हैवलॉक द्वीप के लिए पोर्ट ब्लेयर से दिन में 2 या 3 बार नियमित समय पर फैरी की सेवा उपलब्ध है। इसकी टिकट लग भग 5 से 8 अमेरिकी डॉलर के आस पास है। जबकि कटमरैन फैरी की टिकेट थोड़ी से ज्यादा है। अगर आप समय के पाबंद है तो पोर्ट ब्लेयर से पवन हंस चौपर द्वारा हैवलॉक पहुँच सकते हैं।बीच का पानी सच मानिए आइने की तरह साफ है।चांदी की तरह चमकती रेत और अदभुत कोरल इसकी ख़ूबसूरती में इजाफा करते मिलते हैं।अगर जीवन की भागम भाग से फ़ुर्सत पानी हो तो ज़रुर यहां आना चाहिए।सुकून मिलेगा आपके तन और मन को।सैर करते हुए हैवलॉक द्वीप देखना बढ़िया लगता है, सैर करते हुए आप यहाँ के सुन्दर समुंद्री तट, तटों पर बसे छोटे होटल और कुछ खरीदारी भी कर सकते हैं। राधा नगर तट की सफ़ेद रेत, समुद्र का नीला पानी ,यहाँ के लजीज सीफूड का आनंदलेते आराम से अपनी दुपहरिया कट गई । राधा नगर तट से थोड़ी दूर एलिफेंट तट है जो यहाँ का एक और पर्यटक स्थल है।सैलानियों को हैवलॉक द्वीप पर स्कूबा डाइविंग बहुत पसंद आती है। हैवलाक द्वीप पर स्कूबा डाइविंग बहुत किफ़ायती है और यहाँ अभियानी, शुरुआती, मध्यमवर्ती और अनुभवी डायवर्स के लिए डाइविंग की सेवा उपलब्ध है। स्कूबा डाइविंग समुद्र के अन्दर बसते जीवों को देखने का अच्छा विकल्प है।इसके अलावा ट्रैकिंग भी बहुत लोकप्रिय है ।यहाँ कई टूर आपरेटर सही और निर्देशित ट्रैकर्स की सूचना प्रदान करते हैं।
अगर आप तटों को देख कर थक चुके है और कुछ खरीददारी करना चाहते हैं तो यहाँ के स्थानीय बाज़ार में खरीदने के लिए हाथ से बनी चीज़े और एक्सेसरीस मिल जायेंगी। और हां, यहाँ तक आकर नारियल पानी पीना न भूले।यहां के कई होटलों में काफी किफायती दामों पर शराब और बीयर भी उपलब्ध है।सचमुच यहां आना,रहना,घूमना,खाना पीना मानो किसी ख़ूबसूरत ख़्वाब का हक़ीकत में तब्दील होने जैसा है।
नील आइलैन्ड:हैवलाक आइलैन्ड के पास ही यह छोटा टापू है जहां अक्सर टूरिस्ट एक दिन का प्रवास अवश्य करते हैं और यहीं से वे पोर्ट ब्लेयर वापस चले जाते हैं।एक ख़ास बात यह कि इस टापू के अधिकतल गांवों का नाम रामायण के चरित्रों पर पड़ा है,मसलन-भरतपुर,लक्ष्मणपुर,सीतापुर और रामपुर ।सूरज,चांद,समुद्र की लहरों का अजीब अठखेलियां करता दृश्य है हैवेलाक के इन बीचों पर।चाहे वह राधा नगर बीच हो,एलिफैन्ट बीच या काला पहाड़ बीच ।आप रोमांचित हुए बग़ैर नहीं रह सकते हैं।अगर आपको तैरना आता हो और वाटर स्पोर्ट्स में दिलचस्पी हो तो यहां और भी मजा ले सकते हैं।विकल्प में हमने ग्लास बोट से समुद्री तलहटी में तैर रही मछलियों और शैवालों को देखा ।
पोर्ट ब्लेयर-हैवेलाक में खान पान:

पोर्ट ब्लेयर में सामिष निरामिष सभी प्रकार के भोजन लगभग ठीक दाम पर सुलभ हैं।मौसमी सब्जियां भी।सामिष भोजकों के ठाठ हैं।बिरियानी चिकन,चिकन रेशमी कबाब,फिश टिक्का,टांगरी कबाब,चिकन-फिश मंचूरियन,सी फूड की तमाम वेरायटी ,इटैलियन,आप ले सकते हैं।बिना लहसुन प्याज वालों के लिए थोड़ी दिक्कत है लेकिन होटल वाले व्यवस्था कर देते हैं।हैवेलाक में कुछ ज्यादा ही दिक्कत हमने महसूस की ।प्राय:होटल रुम के दैनिक किराये में ब्रेकफास्ट शामिल होता है इसलिए बेहिचक दबा लीजिएगा।हैवलाक में हम लोग बन्दरगाह के पास के गोविन्द नगर के एक बड़े होटल दि किंगडम के एसी डुप्लेक्स डबल स्टोरी सुविधा सम्पन्न काटेज में ठहरे थे जिसका किराया 6,200 रुपये प्रतिदिन था।डिलक्स रुम भी था जिसका किराया 4200/-था ।समुद्र एकदम बगल में।पोर्ट ब्लेयर में एम ए रोड,फोनिक्स बे स्थित हैवाज़ होटल में हम ठहरे थे।रुम सर्विस,बार,कार पार्किंग सुविधायुक्त।हर जगह स्कूबा डाइविंग और स्नोर्कलिंग की सुविधा मिलेगी जिसके लिए कुछ चार्जेज हैं।ग्लास बोट भी मिलेगी जिससे आप समुद्री जीव,शैवाल आदि देख सकते हैं।मून लाइट नाइट क्रूज,सनसेट क्रूज,ग्रैन्ड क्रूज,सुपर सेवर स्पीड बोट थोड़े मंहगे हैं और उपलब्ध हैं।एम0जी0रोड पोर्ट ब्लेयर में सागरिका इम्पोरियम से आप रुद्राक्ष,शंख आदि की खरीदारी कर सकते हैं।
हैवलाक में घूमने के लिए हालांकि दो दिन पर्याप्त है लेकिन हमारे टूर आपरेटर ने चार दिन रहने का प्रोग्राम बना डाला था।हैवलाक से सुबह 9-45पर हमने ग्रीन ओशन नामक जहाज पकड़ा ।लक्जरी क्लास के लिए किराया एक हजार प्रति व्यक्ति देना पड़ा।दिन में 12-15पर हम एक बार फिर पोर्ट ब्लेयर आ चुके थे।एक दिन यहां रुक कर हमें अगले दिन 2-55 पर स्पाइस जेट की फ्लाइट संख्याSG 254से कोलकता पहुंचना था ।इस यात्रा में इकोनामी क्लास में रु09,723/-प्रति टिकट देना पड़ा ।शाम 5-15पर हम कोलकता थे।हमारी यह काला पानी यात्रा अब अपने अंतिम पड़ाव पर थी।एक रात कोलकता रुक कर हम सभी सुबह 9-55बजे इंडिगो की फ्लाइट पकड़ कर वापस दिन में साढ़े बारह बजे के आसपास लखनऊ पहुंच गये ।हमें गर्व है कि हमने भी अपने इस जीवन में एक कीर्तिमान रचा है काला पानी की उस धरती का दर्शन करके जहां के ज़र्रे ज़र्रे में स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों का बलिदान समाया हुआ है।इसी काला पानी से भारत की गुलामी का अभिशाप आजादी के मतवालों ने समाप्त किया था ।

AIR Adilabad celebrated Radio Kisan Diwas with great fervour on 15th February 2017. The event saw participation from local progreesive farmers in large numbers along with agriculture experts, subject matter specialists, senior bank officials, district administration officials and local media across four districts of erstwhile Adilabad. The highlights of the programme are as follows:
1. Felicitations to eight remarkable farmers from four districts, with handloom products, radio sets and tiffin boxes.

2. Exhibition of vintage radio sets and distribution of prizes.

3. Exchange of thoughts and ideas for making Kisanvani agriculture programmes more relevant and useful to the farmers. 

4. Traditional Millet dishes including a forgotten dish of Jawar vermicelli with rice flour kheer.

5. Traditional folk songs and narratives on nature and agriculture.

BHUBANESWAR: I'd sit alone and watch your light/My only friend through teenage nights/And everything I had to know/I heard it on my radio/You gave them all those old time stars/Through wars of worlds invaded by Mars/You made 'em laugh, you made 'em cry/You made us feel like we could fly./Radio. It was in 1984 that Queen performed Radio Ga Ga. Then Indira Gandhi was still India's Prime Minister, Diego Maradona had not left England and the world in a daze, the Berlin wall had not yet fallen and cable TV had not made its way into this part of the world. In between frequent power outages and flickering shows on Doordarshan, it was the radio that would keep us company. Through good times and bad, through night and day, our world would revolve around the rectangular box with an antenna - our eyes and ears to the outside, as it burst forth in waves, long, short and medium.

But like all things good, the radio too turned old, and faded from public memory. In an age where even MP3 players and ipods are phasing out, it wasn't surprising that radio sets began to be seen as an archaic piece of equipment. For a generation fed on Spotify and Apple Music, would they care to know that something like a radio existed before? Used to listening to songs on their playlist at the click of a button, they may never know the joy of waiting for unexpected numbers to burst onto the charts. For the older ones not used to modern ways, nostalgia serves as food for the soul. They'd rather be out of the loop at a time when the popularity of songs are not determined by physical sales, but by the number of places they are played at right from discs, bars and restaurants, gyms, clothing stores to supermarkets.

While radio may have been integrated and evolved into community and internet radio today, it still cannot boast of reclaiming its lost glory. Well, hold your breath. For all the cynics out there, here comes the twist in the tale. Much like a Hollywood thriller, a radio fair held in the state capital recently turned all the above-mentioned assumptions on their head. All it took was a walk through the fairground for the much-talked about divide between the old and young to vanish into thin air. The fair, which surprisingly saw the enthusiastic participation of a large number of youth, saw some of the oldest radios in the world on display. The objective was to revive people's interest in the radio by talking of career opportunities that could emerge from it. Spread over three days from February 12, the exhibition was held to mark the World Radio Day on February 13. The centre of attraction was a radio of the General Electric Company make dating back to 1906. Sanjeev Manna, the proud owner of the radio, said he had bought it from a man in Madras (now Chennai). It was touted as the oldest radio at the fair.

A self-proclaimed radio activist, Subrat Kumar Pati, also the organizer, said: "The fair brought ham radio, old and new radio sets and broadcasting equipment under one roof." He added that his romance with the radio started early on in life. His fascination for the equipment saw him working with every aspect of it over the years. A valve radio, the predecessor of transistor, was also a top draw. Its owner Akshay Patnaik said, "I collected it from one of my friends at Manikagada in Khurda." A radio collector, Patnaik is credited with having over 350 radio sets. His set, one of the oldest at the exhibition, dates back to the 1920s, said Pati. "Who says the popularity of the radio is on the decline?" asked Pati with an online radio station making its debut at the fair. People bought as many as 2,000 new sets from the fair, which points to the growing popularity of the radio, added Pati. The 'Outreach International Radio Fair', as the exhibition was called, lived up to its name with the participation of three international broadcasters.

Pati's take on the popularity of FM radio is not without a logic. "The private players, owning most radio channels in the country, cater to the demands of people. The transmission is of very good quality with high entertainment quotient." On the flip side, he said, FM channels do not dish out much utility-based content. Procuring the exhibits was not a headache for Pati as he has dedicated 11 years of his life to the sector. Exhibition bit apart, there were two other parts which ensured that people came in droves. Bollywood star Annu Kapoor, popular radio jockey (Suhaana Safar fame), secretary general of Association for Radio Operators for India, an association of the private commercial radio stations in India, Uday Chawla and legendary broadcaster Akhil Mittal delivered insightful talks on the occasion. The exhibition had a cultural angle also. The stage versions of radio content wowed the buffs as well as common audience.

Radio Namaskar, the first community radio station in Odisha was launched on February 12, 2010. Its founder NA Shah Ansari said, "It marked a watershed in radio listening. The radio station is the source of knowledge and entertainment for thousands of rural folks." Ansari, who is a human rights activist, said serving the rural masses is the sole aim of community radio. Souvagya Kar, news editor with All India Radio (AIR), explained, "Radio caters to the needs of millions of villagers in the country's hinterland." Having covered a number of elections for AIR, Kar added, "During emergency and natural disasters, radio is the only mode of communication. When the Super Cyclone struck Odisha in 1999, Ham radio saved many lives."

When cell phones, regular phones, the internet and other systems are down or overloaded, amateur radio or just Hams, still get the message through. 'Mann Ki Baat', a radio programme through which Prime Minister Narendra Modi connects with the people of the nation, takes up matters which are very close to his heart. "The programme has upped the popularity of radio by several notches," added Kar. The underlying message of the fair was to make people understand the importance of radio and Pati seemed to have struck the right note.

She is the current Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the ICICI Bank which is India’s largest privatised financial institution. She is the leading example of today’s women and her empowerment to make the world a better place to live in.

Her vision was far beyond the local level. It was she had the courage to keep working hours of the bank be 12 hours whereas rest all brands worked for 7 hours in a day. She is one of the few bankers who envisioned the idea of2000 ATM machine installations throughout India promoting electronic banking in a large scale. ICICI bank received the recognition to be the “Best Retail Bank in India” for the years 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005 under her lead.

Childhood – Chanda Kochhar, born on November 17 in the year 1961 in Rajasthan completed her graduation from the Jai Hind College in Mumbai. She did cost accountancy from ICWAI and learnt the various skills of management by pursuing a Master’s degree at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. She was an extremely enlightened student and earned recognition of the Wockhardt Gold Medal for her excellence in Management studies. She also received at the J.N.Bose gold medal award for her outstanding performance in Cost Accountancy.

Career – The direction of her life transformed when she joined the ICICI or The Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India Limited as their trainee management in the year 1984. There was no looking back since then. Year 1994 saw Chanda become the Assistant General Manager while in the year 1996 she became the Deputy General Manager. Under her leadership, the company saw a new dimension. In the year 1999 she was further promoted as the General Manager and was honoured with the responsibility of managing more than top 200 reputed clients of the company.

The company started its retail operations in the year 2000, under Chanda Kochhars leadership and visionary ideologies. In the next few years the company became the largest in the retail sector in the nation. The company honoured her by making her the Deputy Managing Director who proficiently managed the entire corporation and the banking sector of the retail. Year 2007 to 2009, saw her working hard and ambitiously as the CFO or Chief Finance Officer, JMD or the Joint Managing Director and the official representative and spokesperson for the brand.

In May 20009 Chanda Kochchar was given the recognition to be the Chief Operation Officer and the Managing Director for five years by the ICICI bank.

An eternal optimist she does not shriek away from challenges. She believes that new entrants cannot disrupt large banks and that competition provides the best value to consumers. For her challenges are no more confined to achieving scale but of aligning strategy of organization with changed environment. 

A mother of two, Kochhar efficiently juggles her career with family. She never slacks in her 24-hour schedule and utilises her breathing time to go through mails, telephonic conferences or to catch up on sleep. Her appointment as the head honcho of ICICI is an inspiration for all the women aspiring to make a mark in the corporate world.

A digital professional by day, Tanushri Shukla had been observing a daily occurrence in her family’s garment production company. Here, at the end of each day, kilos of fabric ended up in the waste bin. Seeing so much go to waste, Tanushri thought of transforming such scrap, known as ‘chindi’ in the tailoring community, into something beautiful and useful. 

After toying with the idea for a long time, she finally decided to turn it into reality and launched Chindi – a Mumbai-based enterprise that works with marginalised women to help them earn a living through crafts.
Started with an idea to empower women and make them financially independent in a way which is also creatively satisfying, Chindi “helps transform women from marginalised neighbourhoods into financially independent craftswomen, by promoting skills they already have and providing further skills training.”
“They create handmade, ethical products by upcycling waste — primarily textile production waste from t-shirt factories and sewing units,” says Tanushri.

Chindi, which began in 2015, works with women from Mankhurd, where they have set up the Chindi Women’s Centre. The women belong to a community of migrants from north India who are exceptional with crafts like knitting and crocheting – skills they lost touch with after relocating to the Maximum City. The craftswomen are given training and provided support at the centre. 

Our sewing unit is in Mankhurd and we had employed some women for handwork from the community. They introduced me to their neighbours who became our first team of craftswomen,” Tanushri says. “It’s easy to say do work and you’ll get paid. It’s hard to get quality, ask them to take time away from their housework and home duties, and hardest to convince their families to let them do this. Otherwise they are all mostly housewives,” she continues.

Shri Anil Kumar former Dy. Director General, All India Radio expired today, 20.02.2017 at 02.30 am at Bareilly, UP. Shri Anil Kumar had joined at All India Radio Lucknow and served at Zonal office, New Delhi, AIR Jagdalpur, AIR Rampur and AIR Bareilly before retiring from government service as DDG, HPT, AIR Aligarh in June 2013. He was a very sicere and cool IBES officer.

Shri Anil Kumar is survived by his wife and one son. Prasar Bharati parivar condoles the demise of Shri Anil Kumar and prays for the peace of the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss.

Today as I tread these roads alone, I think of you in this bewilderness. I remember your tender touch, your watery eyes, and your sparkling smile. I think of you calling me ''Doaslaala''. I remember how even in my forties you would offer me morsels from your plate. I wonder why we grow and get old and leave our loved ones alone. My dad ''Kaaklala'' left us all alone on 18th of Feb., 2013 at the age of 91 and its been 4 years without him now. I cant believe. There are times when I badly want to see him, talk to him and give a vent to my stockpiled feelings. I feel like a baby longing to cry in my dad's lap, longing to tell him all good and bad that happened over these years but at the end of the day its all just a wish and every wish doesnt come true.

My Kaaklaala ------ Late Shah Peerzada Ahmadullah popular by the name 'Affandi Sahab' --- A legendary Scout Master, born on 22-02-1922, got his Government job as a teacher when he was just a student of class 10th, in the year 1937 due to his sports skills that came into the eyes of an English lady at an event at M.P. School, Amira kadal who thought Affandi was a physical instructor but after knowing that he was a student with such skills that the best teachers had, wished him to be a teacher. Her words, ''I have seen such a great function in Gilwell park London (a camp site and activity centre for scouting and guiding groups)" and thus due to her directions was appointed as a teacher and posted at Iskardu Gilgit (Now in Pakistan). He played for the Kashmir hockey team as a goal keeper against Lahore in 1930s.He emerged as a first class scout from Kashmir and attended many camps and jamborees in the United Hindustan. It was during these camps his skills came into limelight. He was honoured by the then President of independent India, Late Mr. Zakir Hussain who was so impressed by his character that he eagerly wanted to make him a cup of tea with his own august hands as a token of love. His words for him being, '' Iss Mehmaan-e-Rasool (SAW) ko main apne haathoon se bani chaai pilaaoonga'' and so he did.

He was selected as the leader of the Indian Contingent of Hajj Delegates and during this journey by ship his philanthropic nature worked wonders for the Haajis. There was this elderly lady who had severe diarrhoea that she almost collapsed due to dehydration. Her son got sick too and Mr. Affandi took care of her. He even washed her soiled clothes and nursed her. Once she recovered she wished to see this gentleman, called him and gave him so many blessings and Mr. Affandi witnessed those blessings getting true at every step of his life. In Saudi Arabia, he was honoured by the then King of Saudi Arabia Late Mr. Shah Faisal in 1967-68. King Faisal presented him with so many gifts --- A Sony transistor, scouting badges and scarves, a Parker pen with a diamond stud on its cap. There are so many stories related to that pen that if i go on writing, my own pen may dry up.

He was honoured by state awards so many times and even got an extension in his service twice after retirement. Even Ladakh region had demanded him to serve there as a scout master permanently but due to familial reasons he had to stay back and couldnt accept the offer. But he continued to train teachers (male and female), students and everyone around in all the three regions of the state. He was given the name "Baba-e-Scouting". After retirement he served at Eaglets Public a private school at Bandipora and taught the tiny tots even upto the age of 80's.I remember when I would go to meet him in the class (class roll being almost 100 as all wished their wards to be taught by Affandi Sir) I would find him sitting with the tots teaching all of them independently. He used to go to the school on his own bicycle even in his old age. He was a great swimmer too and had crossed The Dal and Mansbal Lakes in his green days. He would do his chores on his own and would fetch feed for the cow himself which he had reared at home.

In the year 1999 Mr. Affandi was further honoured by the then President of India Mr. K.R. Narayannan with the Silver Elephant award. I remember the day when at Kashmir University's Convocation Hall, Late Mr. S.K. Sinha, the then Governer of J&K during a scouts/guides award ceremony was stunned on seeing the support of the audience who cheered for Mr. Affandi for almost 10 minutes continuously. Mr Sinha appreciated him for his lifetime achievement and presented him a memento. This event was being telecast live on a private local TV channel. There is so much that still remains unvoiced. He was a man of qualities and talents.

Tell me Kaaklaala where do I stop? I can keep on writing and writing so much about you. You were the definition of Love and you'll always be. I miss you Papa...

The services will be part of a special communication strategy formulated by the MEA to generate awareness among vulnerable migrant labourers.Keeping its focus well on issues faced by Indian migrant labourers, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), along with public service broadcaster All India Radio, will soon start special services to reach out to them.The services will be part of a special communication strategy formulated by the MEA to generate awareness among vulnerable migrant labourers, who often fall prey to agents and are subjected to fraud and exploitation, and also guide them reach out to the government in case of emergencies.

According to sources, the campaign would comprise two services. “One would be broadcast through AIR’s domestic service for prospective migrants in catchment states, from where the majority of migrant labourers go to different countries. The second one would be broadcast by the external services division of AIR for Indian labourers working in different countries, especially the numerous workers in the Gulf countries,” a senior official said.Sources added that the programme content for both the service, which would be provided by the MEA, would include distress support system, visa information, services provided by Indian missions abroad to Indian migrant labourers, sensitising them about their rights and duties in their countries of migration as well as skill development for better prospects.

​Warangal: Surviving and staying ahead is not all that easy in the predominantly entertainment-oriented and the highly competitive FM world that spread across a narrow band of spectrum from 87.5 MHz to 108 MHz.Began its journey as the 100th radio station in the country in 1990, 10 KW Warangal Akashvani FM local radio station (LRS) not only made a niche for itself but also brought back the radio spice of yesteryears.When the LRS (103.5MHz) went on the air on this very day in 1990, it dished out programmes for four hours and 15 minutes.

Over the years, it was increased to 17 hours a day. However, the channel was mooted to cover a radius of 30 kilometers, people living in as far as Etur Nagaram mandal are able to catch the broadcast. With exemption to some parts of upland region (Champak hills) of Janagon district, the Warangal FM is covering all corners.Despite the LRS has to contend with a private commercial FM channel, its programmes, especially Udaya Tarangini and Kisan Vani are a huge hit among the people. 

Significantly, the station is doing its best in keeping alive the local art forms such as Oggu katha, Yakshaganam etc. besides providing a bit of livelihood opportunity to many an artiste. The LRS has 58 RJs on its radar to present programmes. Speaking to The Hans India, PA to the AIR Warangal Director AV Anil Prasad said: “What we broadcast is based on artiste-oriented rather than the radio jockey-dominated programmes of the commercial FM players. The live interactive programmes covering information about health, education, agriculture and other issues have captured a huge listener-base.” He said that the LRS broadcasts will be further boosted as they are procuring a sophisticated transmitter soon.

Despite this, there is a long-pending demand that the LRS deserves the status of Grade A, upgrading the FM to medium wave (MW) service. The MW will cover a radius of 200 km to 300 km. Hyderabad has the only MW station in Telangana while Andhra Pradesh has three, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Kadapa. Other FM stations in the State are Adilabad, Nizamabad and Kothagudem while the one established in Karimnagar is only a relay station and yet to churn out programmes.If the Warangal LRS is upgraded, it will accommodate more programmes such as news, music, drama etc. thus creating more employment opportunities to the local youth.

The Warangal FM, which hosted the programmes of several eminent personalities like Kaloji Narayan Rao, Nerella Venu Madhav and Ampasayya Naveen, has on Friday celebrated its 28th birth anniversary.

A popular speaker started off a seminar by holding up a $20 bill. A crowd of 200 had gathered to hear him speak. He asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?”

200 hands went up.

He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He crumpled the bill up.

He then asked, “Who still wants it?”

All 200 hands were still raised.

“Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” Then he dropped the bill on the ground and stomped on it with his shoes.

He picked it up, and showed it to the crowd. The bill was all crumpled and dirty.

“Now who still wants it?”

All the hands still went up.

“My friends, I have just showed you a very important lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, life crumples us and grinds us into the dirt. We make bad decisions or deal with poor circumstances. We feel worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special – Don’t ever forget it!

दि. १७ फ़रवरी २०१७ के दिन शाम ५ :३० बजे आकाशवाणी पुणे ने अपने सभागृह में शास्त्रीय संगीत सभा 'रंग गायकीचे' का आयोजन किया था। संगीत सभा के प्रारंभ में श्री. आशीष भटनागरजी ( उप महानिदेशक, अभियांत्रिकी तथा कार्यालय प्रमुख ) और श्री. रविन्द्र खासनीसजी (उप निदेशक तथा कार्यक्रम प्रमुख ) ने सभी कलाकारों का पुष्पगुच्छ देकर स्वागत किया।

इस संगीत सभा में विदुषी मंजिरी कर्वे आलेगांवकर और डॉ. राजेन्द्र कांदलगावकर ने शास्त्रीयगायन प्रस्तुत किया। विदुषी आलेगांवकर ने श्री. वामनराव देशपांडे और अप्पासाहेब कनेटकरजी से जयपुर घराने की तथा श्री. बबनराव हलदंकरजी से जयपुर आगरा घराने की गायकी का प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया। वर्तमान में आप पंडिता कुमुदिनी काटकर और डॉ. अरुण द्रविडजी से प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त कर रही है। पंडित कांदलगावकरजी ने श्री. विष्णुपंत घाग जी से ग्वाल्हेर घराने का प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया। आप भारतरत्न श्री. भीमसेन जोशी जी के शिष्य रहे है।

शुरवात में पंडित कांदलगावकरजी ने राग मुलतान प्रस्तुत किया। किराणा घराने की बंदिश 'गोकुल गांव का छोरा 'विलंबित एकताल में और बंदिश 'नयन में आनबान 'द्रुतगति में प्रस्तुत की। इस के बाद विदुषी मंजिरी कर्वे आलेगांवकर ने राग मधुवंती में दो बंदिश प्रस्तुत की। ये दोनों राग ओड़व सम्पूर्ण प्रकार के है। जोड़ राग के तहत पंडित कांदलगावकरजी ने राग 'श्री'यह भक्तिभावपूर्ण राग प्रस्तुत किया। जयपुर आत्रोली घराने की गायकी प्रस्तुत करते हुए 'मोरा आसरा या जगमे 'यह बंदिश एकताल में और ऐ री हो तो आसन गैरी 'यह बंदिश तीनताल में प्रस्तुत की। विदुषी मंजिरी कर्वे आलेगांवकर ने 'जैत'राग में जयपुर घराने की गायकी प्रस्तुत करते हुए बंदिश 'पपीहा न बोले 'तीनताल में और पारंपारिक तराना तीनताल में गाया। फिर दोनों रागों का मिश्रण राग 'जैताश्री कल्याण 'को दोनों कलाकारोंने मिलकर तीनताल में 'बहुत दिन बीते 'यह बंदिश गाकर पेश किया। सभा के आखरी पड़ाव पर मुच्छरना यह संगीत प्रकार प्रस्तुत किया। विदुषी आलेगांवकर ने राग ललत में दो बंदिशों को पेश किया। पंडित कांदलगावकरजी ने राग मिया की तोड़ी में दो बंदिशों को प्रस्तुत किया। दोनों कलाकारोंको तबले पर श्री. मिलिंद पोटे, हार्मोनियम पर श्री. प्रमोद मराठे और तानपुरेपर श्री. रवि फड़के, सायली आचार्य और कीर्ति कुमठेकर ने साथ दिया। श्री. मंगेश वाघमारेजी ने निवेदक के रूप में श्रोताओंको शास्त्रीय संगीत की सुक्ष्म बातोंसे अवगत कराया।

इस संगीत सभा के प्रमुख आयोजक थे श्री. किशोर खड़कीकर (कार्यक्रम अधिकारी ), और ध्वनिमुद्रण की जिम्मेदारी श्रीमती रांजेकर और श्री. नीलेश घाटोले ने निभाई। इस आयोजन को आकाशवाणी पुणे के श्रोताओं ने भारी संख्या में उपस्थित रहकर सफल बनाया।
