In 1934 engineers at AEG developed Megnetophoe K1. The K1 was the first practical reel-to-reel magnetic tape recorder, using magnetic tape invented by Fritz Pfleumers . It was first demonstrated at the International Funkausste Berlin . (International radio exhibition Berlin, aka 'Berlin Radio Show') in 1935. On January 27, 1948: The first magnetic tape recorder was introduced by Wire Recording Corporation of America. ‘Wire Way,’ as it was called, had an integrated oscillator and was sold for $149.50 at the time.
