RAdio Kashmir Jammu Partners with J&K Academy or Art , Culture and Languages for 16th episode of JHAROKHA programme

Radio Kashmir Jammu in partnership with JKAACL, felicitated, Anita Sharma, a renowned singer in 16th Episode of their flagship programme, JHAROKHA on 4thJune 2016.Smt Anita Sharma,a Senior and renowned singer of the soil was today felicitated in Jharokha-16 Programme jointly organized by Radio Kashmir Jammu and J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Jammu in K.L.Saigal Hall, Academy Complex, Jammu.Born on 1st April1949 in the family of famous Pandit Dhani Ram of Purani Mandi, Jammu ,Smt. Anita Sharma did her matric and after that attained graduation Degree in “Sangeet Parveen” from Prayag Sangeet Samiti , Allahwad . She learnt classical music from the Institute of Music and Fine Art, Jammu. In addition to it, she had teachings from S/Sh. J.R. Sharma, Mahesh Vajpayee, T.K.Jalali, and B.S.Bali.

Besides this Smt. Anita Sharma is a ‘B’ high grade singer. She has played a vital role as a back stage singer in most of the Academy plays like Jaswan, Tipu Sultan , Kunju Chencholo, Krishan Leela , Mehak Gulab Ki and Kahani Hamari Tumarhri etc. By dint of her hard work and melodious voice, she earned a lot of name and fame in the music field.Prof Rita Jatindra, prominent social activist, artist and former Secretary, JKAACL .was the Chief Guest and Sh Vidya Rattan Aasi, eminent Urdu poet presided. Sh. Vijay Sambyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn , Additional Secretary, JKAACL were also present in the presidium . 

Delivering welcome address by Sh. Vijay Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu, expressed his gratitude to the regular audience with whose presence the programme Jharokha has touched the heights.A citation was read out by Sh. Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri.This was followed by presentation of paper on the life and works of Smt.Anita Sharma. Smt. Promila Manhas, an eminent Dogri poet, writer, scholar presented a detailed paper on life and works of the felicitator.

The evening was then thrown open for a spending hour of choicest Dogri songs by Smt. Anita Sharma that left the entire house spellbound. She charmed one and all not only by her silken voice but by the simplicity of her expression. The stage was shared by Station Director RKJ Sh.V.K.Sambyal who intervened with great anecdotes from the life of Smt.Anita Sharma. The jam packed hall did not mind the frequent power break downs and was attended by music lovers braving the over 44 degrees temperature to reach the venue and stay put for the entire duration.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Rita Jatindra congratulated the J&K Cultural Academy and Radio Kashmir, Jammu for honouring Mrs Anita Sharma, who contributed a lot in the field of light music and Dogri folk here in Jhorkha-16, a series programme. She further said that Jharokha series is succeeded in touching new heights of its popularity and through this programme the legends of the soil who contributed in their respective field.
Delivering his presidential address, Sh. Vidya Rattan Aasi complimented Mrs Anita Sharma for her long journey of music and applauded the efforts of Radio Kashmir, Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for providing the legends of the region to interact with the younger generation and also share their experiences and contribution. He further said that such efforts should be encouraged and supported by the art and music lovers.
Smt. Anita Sharma also sang some of her best songs and attracted the audience with her melodious voice. The accompanists were Sh. Kamal Sharma (Dholak), Ravi Sharma (Harmonium) and Rakesh Anand (flute).
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL presented vote of thanks and programme was anchored by Mrs Anjana Badyal, programme executive, Radio Kashmir, Jammu.
