BES(I), Thanjavur Chapter in Co-ordination with KRCT Engineering College Organized a lecture on “Broadcasting Antennas on 24.01.2018. The function Presided over by Dr. S. Muruganandam, Principal, KRCT Engineering college,Trichy.
The function was inaugurated with prayer song followed by lightening the lamp by the delicates and welcome address given by Shri.S.Syed Akbar, Head of the Department, Electronics and communication Engineering. Key note Address given by Smt. A.Chitra, Chairperson, BES(I), Thanjavur Chapter, briefed about the activates and importance of Broadcast Engineering Society and its services to the students and Engineering community. Guest Lecture was delivered by Shri.R.Krishnamurthy, Deputy Director General, (Rtd), All India Radio, Chennai.
In his guest lecture explained various aspect of Broadcasting Antennas, His vivid explanations on types, designs and efficiency and adaptation to digital broadcasting was more informative and inspiring to one and all. He clearly 'explained the Antenna theory and its construction details in Sound and Television Broadcasting, Different types of antennas like Dish, Yagi, Whip, Patch and Turnstile antennas. Power handling requirements for antennas in Broadcasting are touched upon. Smart antennas and current trends in research are detailed.
BES(I) Thanjavur Chapter members, AIR & Doordarshan staff , large number of staff and students of KRCT Engineering college attended the seminar. The function ended with vote of Thanks by Shri M.Ravi, AE, DDK, Madurai. Followed by National Anthem.
