A well appreciated and favourite announcer of many, her association with AIR Chennai dates back to decades as she has participated in Children Programmes as well as Youth Programmes of Telugu Section of AIR Chennai in her early years. A graded drama artist, soon she got selected as Telugu Announcer in 1983 and served the organisation for the past 34 years with utmost devotion to duty and sincerity. She has got numerous accolades from listeners, press, colleagues and station directors throughout her career. A perfectionist and a stickler of rules, she is a role model for many emerging announcers. The Ugadi Invited Audience Programme that is being conducted in the MTR studios of AIR Chennai every year gets filled with her ardent listeners mainly for her inimitable presentation style.
The retirement party of her took place on 31.10.17 and she was appreciated and honoured by all the staff members for her service to the organisation. Shri. V. Chakravarthy, Programme Head felicitated her with a memento and appreciated her services to the organisation.
Her retirement function was widely covered by Telugu press in Chennai reflecting the reach of her voice to the Telugu community of Chennai and its Suburbs.
