Akashvani Sangeeth Sammelan, an ever revered annual cultural festival is held all over India. In Thiruvananthapuram it was held at Levy Hall, East Fort on 07.10.2017 to a jam packed audience.The Veena-Venu-Violin trio recital by Vidwan D. Srinivas, Vidwan V. Nagaraju and Vidwan M. Suryadeepty enthralled the audience by their magical performance. The TRIO is associated with All India Radio, Hyderabad as staff artists. Vidwan D. Srinivas had his initial tutelage from his mother Smt. D. L. Tulasi. He learnt the advanced techniques of playing on the Veena from the well known Musician late N. S. Srinivasan. Sinivasa’s style of playing the Veena is marked by a fine combination of Swara Prastharam and high speed Taanam with melody. 

Vidwan V. Nagaraju underwent training in Flute under the renowned Flautist Late Manda Balarama Sarma of Hyderabad. Vidwan Nagaraju’s specialty lies in playing the flute with rich improvisation and tonal quality steeped with melody. Vidwan M. Suryadeepty got his basic training in violin from Late Challa Dattatreya Sarma and Late Sagi Venteswara Rao. He later had is advanced training from Shri Kotipally Surya Prakasa Rao. Vidwan Suryadeepty plays the violin in a style which blends modernity with tradition coupled with rich melody and improvisation. 

Vasudha Ravi is gifted with a mellifluous voice and deep understanding of the nuances of music. She got her training from Dr. Manjula Sriram and later for brief spell from Sangeetha Vidwan A. Sundaresan. She has been giving a number of performances in India and abroad and also associated with many dance projects. She has been honored with several awards from many reputed music organizations.The magical recital by Veena-Venu-Violin Trio and the mellifluous rendition by Vasudha Ravi mesmerized the audience in jam packed Levy Hall, East Fort, Thiruvananthapuram. Gouri Parvathy Bayi, member of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore was felicitated by Shri. R. Vimalasenan Nair, Station Director at a function in connection with the Akashvani Sangeeth Sammelan.
