Voluntary Retirement by ADP Anil Kumar Goel from All India Radio, Jodhpur

Anil Kumar Goel, Assistant Director ( Programme ), All India Radio, Jodhpur, relinquished his charge today after his VRS request was submitted on 03rd July 2017, to The Director General, All India Radio, New Delhi, which was accepted, and 04th October 2017 was decided as his last working day. Shri Goel began his career as English Announcer, Junior Grade, in the General Overseas Service of the External Services Division, of All India Radio, New Delhi in 1983. His was probably the only batch of Announcers which were selected by The Staff Selection Commission. After working in the GOS for three plus years, he applied for the post of Programme Executive, ( English Spoken Word and Feature ) to the Union Public Service ommission, and got selected for the same in the year 1988. As Programme Executive he was posted first at Radio Kashmir, Leh. Later he served at All India Radio, Udaipur, All India Radio, Jaisalmer, All India Radio, Jodhpur, All India Radio, Jaipur, All India Radio, Nagaur, than again at All India Radio, Jodhpur, All India Radio, Aizawl, again at All India Radio, Nagaur, and finally at All India Radio, Jodhpur.

In a career spanning Thirty Three years and Four months, Anil Goel participated in more than two dozen workshops conducted by STI ( P ), now known as NABM ( P ), along with a few workshops conducted by Common Wealth Broadcast Association, and BBC. He was also a member of a six member group who visited BBC, London on a Study Tour in the year 2000, on the topic " Sex and Reproductive Health Education. " He covered the Thirty Second National Games which were held in Hyderabad, and the First Afro Asian Games also held in Hyderabad.

As a Programme Executive he had the privilege of interviewing various luminaries, noted amongst them were Amitabh Bachchan, Sayed Kirmani, Ravi Shashtri, Olympian Archer Limba Ram, Dhool Chand Damor, and celebrities from the world of music, like Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Wadaali Brothers, Singh Bandhu, A Hariharan, Pankaj Udhas, Antakshri Fame Anu Kapoor, Durga Jasraj, Actor Chandrachud Singh, Cricketer turned Actor Salil Ankola, Renowned Bhajan Singer Anup Jalota, Punjabi Pop Singer Harbhajan Maan, Ghazal Singer Indira Nayak, and many other celebrities.
