71st Independence Day was celebrated at AIR Pune and HPT Hadapsar. In HPT Hadapsar Shri. Hemant Paradkar (Asst. Engineer, AIR Pune) unfurled the National Flag. Staff members rendered the National Anthem. On this occasion Shri. Paradkar gave speech and remembered the sacrifice given by freedom fighter.At studios, Shri. Ashish Bhatnagar (DDG Engg. and Head of Office) hoisted the Tricolour. He invited Shri. Gapal Autee ( Deputy Director and Head of Prog.) to say few words on this occasion. Shri. Autee quoted few lines of poem which inspired the gathering. This year the tradition of AIR Pune was maintained by inviting retired employees. Shri. Ashish Bhatnagar had sent letters to invite them, well in advance. There response was overwhelming. Refreshment and Tea was served to participants.
Refreshment was followed by get together in auditorium. In the beginning a film elaborating various activities carried out in AIR Pune through out the year, was displayed. Then there was interaction among retired employees, existing staff and officers of AIR Pune. Retired employees expressed there feelings and appreciated the idea of conducting get together. Then Shri. Bhausaheb pagare (Sr. A.O.) guided retired employees to fill the form for revised pension as per 7th pay commission. He was assisted by Shri. Palde (Head Clerk) and Shri. Ramteke. The event concluded with vote of thanks given by Smt. Sangeeta Upadhye (Asst. Director, Engg.).
