As a special gesture towards the poor workers who live in slums and work tirelessly to give comfort and relief to those who live in flats, apartments and bunglows, Akashvani Pune, for the first time in its history organized a special invited audience programme – Kritagyata – exclusively for these friends – The Drivers, The Coolies, The Construction workers, The Housemaids……..
It was a rare first opportunity for many of these workers to visit Akashvani with their families as Special Guests. With curious eyes, they peeped inside the studios from where the voice of their favourite announcers originates and reach them through Radio. This was followed by a musical concert presented by a young troop, which has also risen from a similar humble background. Akashvani Pune felicitated few examples of brilliant students coming from the slums and persons who have lived the stories of success and courage defeating the strings of poverty and lack of resources.
On the call of Akashvani Pune, many upper/middle class residents of Pune took their maids and families for this event, which was again a first time phenomena in their life. This activity was handled by two of our MTS colleagues, proving that they are no more Gr 'D', but really Multi Task Staff.
This event was much more than a routine government programme for many Akashvani employees who worked like equal volunteers setting aside the levels of pay and posts. The core group of the event was Shri Arun Solanki, Shri Ravindra Ranjekar, Shri Kishore Khadkikar, Ms. Tejashri Kamble, Shri Dilip Palde, Shri Dyaneshwar Bagade and Shri Vithal Sutar.
The event was highly successful and witnessed many emotional moments with tears flowing from the eyes of many persons on stage and in audience...
