In connection with "International women's day" Akashvani Bengaluru has arranged State Level womens poetry Symposium and a light music concert at Bharatheeya Vidya Bhavan, Bengaluru on 8th March 2016. Other Akashvani Kendras of Karnataka have joined hands in this extravaganza.
A. Hanumantha DDG(Eng) and Milansar Ahmad, Station Director, AIR Bengaluru welcomed the guests by presenting flower bouguets. Nutan Shyam Kadam, Programme Executive welcomed the gathering. Divya Giridhar from Bhadravathi, Jayadevi Jangama Shetty from Dharwad, Sangeetha Khakhandaki from Gulbarga and Sangeetha Balachandra from Mangalore have participated in the light music programme. In the second session Kavigosthti was held in which ten prominent poets representing different Akashvani Kendras of Karnataka have participated. P. Chandrika (Bengaluru), Deepthi Bhadravathi(Bhadravathi), R. Tarini shubhadayini(Chitradurga), Vinaya Vakkunda(Dharwad), Ja. Na. Thejasree(Hassan), Sandhya Hunuguntikar (Gulbarga), Renuka Ramananda(Karwar), U. Maheshwari(Mangaluru), Dr. Layanya Prabha(Mysore) and Dr. Jayalakshmi Mangalamurhty(Raichuru) have participated in the Kavigoshti.
Prominent poets Smt. Prathibha Nandakumar presided overt the Kavigosti. "The women liberation movement is completed almost fifty years in India and still it is continued" she remarked. Pratibha Nandakumar also presented a poem.Smt Nagarathna and Smt B. K. Sumathi Staff Announcers compered the programme. Along with the poets and light music artisits, Programme Heads of respective Stations were also present in the program. The program was telecast LIVE by Dooradarshan Chandana channel and broadcast by FM Rainbow channel. A large number of audience witnessed the event.
