Shah Rukh Khan did a scene in Rajani which was clapworthy. Shah Rukh Khan has played himself in a lot of films. In fact, in his own film Om Shanti Om, he played a superstar who rules the industry. There have been other instances too where he did special appearances as Shah Rukh Khan the popular actor. But we are sure you aren’t aware that he did the same for a Doordarshan series as well. Remember Rajani? Priya Tendulkar as the inimitable crusader against lax government officials was our role model for years. We doubt there’s anyone from the golden days of Doordarshan who hasn’t watched this show and it is in this show that Shah Rukh made a guest appearance. And it wasn’t devoid of a message. One of Shah Rukh’s fan clubs posted two videos of Shah Rukh on the show. One of the videos have him shooting a song in the rain. Even in a cameo he does the romance act so well. The second video has him talking to Rajani aka Priya Tendulkar. She talks about a guy who ran away from his house after stealing money to become an actor. She also tells him about a producer who claimed that his next film is with Shah Rukh. When she told him the name, he denied that he knew anyone by that name. Rajani even shows him his photo with the producer and that’s when he realises that the producer is using his name wrongly. They talk some more and at the end, there’s a moment where SRK says, “Kamyabi khareedi nahi jaati.” He was talking in the context that you don’t have to pay money to be an actor. You get money in return for your work. That one dialogue nails it!
Shah Rukh Khan now is one man everyone wants to be. He is the idol of so many because when he started out, he was just an outsider. But today, he is the badshah of Bollywood, all because of his hardwork and dedication. He did the right thing at the right moment. He too is a find of Television, having done so many shows. Later, films happened and he became a name to reckon with Shah Rukh just wrapped up the first schedule of Imtiaz Ali’s film with Anushka Sharma in Prague and Amsterdam. SRK is looking inexplicably hot and when we are not gushing over the on the sets photos, we are fawning over the snaps he put up on his instagram account.
