Valedictory Function of Voice Training of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi employees By Radio Kashmir Jammu and NABM

“Although I have been doing announcements for the last 20 years but i was not aware of the nuances of announcing. I feel so much empowered now after the end of this five day long workshop wherein experts from Radio in the field of programme, announcements and technical areas cleared our doubts and gave useful tips to us” said Shamsher Singh an employee of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board who was part of a fifteen member trainee batch that underwent training in the field of announcing at Radio Kashmir Jammu in a five day long workshop that started on 19thSeptember. This training was organised by Radio Kashmir Jammu in collaboration with National Academy of Broadcasting and Multi Media, Delhi for the staff of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi . His sentiments were echoed in unison by all the fifteen trainees of batch.

DDG(E) and Head of the Office Sh.K.K.Singh, while distributing the Vani handbook, appreciated the efforts of Shrine Board for taking help of the professional services in improving the quality of services for the pilgrims and committed continuous support of Radio Kashmir Jammu for all such ventures in future also. He further added that Radio Kashmir Jammu has vast talent pool and other similar organisations can also take advantage of our professionals. He believed that there will be a visible change and improvement in the quality of announcements that are made from various announcement booths, enroute the Holy Shrine. In his valedictory address, course co-ordinator, Sh.S.K.Malhotra wished success to the trainees. Mr. Raman Sharma, Assistant Manager, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, thanked Radio Kashmir Jammu and NABM for training their staff and appreciated the quality training imparted to the trainees. He further said that the board is giving many specialised trainings in various fields to the staff taking help from many establishments thus giving a professional touch to its employees. Programme Executive, Radio Kashmir Jammu Sh.Nitish Arora advised the trainees that improvement in the quality of announcements is a continuous effort , the seeds of which were sown in this workshop but they will have to work continuously to further improve their output.

Apart from course co-ordinator Sh.S.K.Malhotra, Programme Executives Nitish Arora, Sanjeev Sharma, Senior announcer Smt.Madhvi Sharma, Sr.Technician Sh.Dushyant Dutta gave practical and theoretical training to the immensely satisfied trainees. Former Director Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages and a long time associate of Radio Prof Rita Jitendra also delivered a lecture on correct Pronunciation. The training was practical oriented and was an effort to weed out the faults and inculcate professional touch.
