Independence Day-Celebrations at AIR Dharmapuri
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated in AIR FM LRS Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. The National Flag was hoisted by Shri.R.Murali Programme Head, AIR FM LRS Dharmapuri. Staff from Engineering wing, CCAs along with their children participated in this National Festival. The Campus was also cleaned as a part of Swach Bharath Programme. Sweets were distributed to all. A meeting was also conducted and the significance of Independence Day was deliberated.

73rd Independence Day celebrated in AIR Pune with great pomp.
All India Radio Pune celebrated 73rd Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Sharp 8:00 o'clock Shri. Ashish Bhatnagar [Deputy Director(E) & Head of Office] unfurled the National Flag. On this occasion staff members from all sections were present. Retired staff members of All India Radio and Doordarshan also present and graced the function. Shri. Bhatnagar during his speech paid tribute to all those great people who have sacrificed and are still sacrificing their lives for guarding and securing the Independence. Shri. Nitin Kelkar [Asst. Director(News)] while addressing the gathering he hope that in near future our nation should get rid off terrorism. Shri. Faiyaz Hussain Khan (Retd. Violin Player, AIR Pune) and Shri. Ratnakar Gokhale (Retd. Violin Player, AIR Pune) also share their feelings on this occasion. After light refreshment and tea the celebration was concluded.
At HPT Hadapsar Shri. Mukund Moghe (Asstt. Engineer) hoisted the tricolor. Staff and their family members residing in staff quarters participated in celebration. Snacks, sweets and tea were served to all.

Independence Celebration at HPT-Kumbakonam
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Doordarshan HPT, Kumbakonam. The Dy. Director (E) Smt. A.Chitra, invited the Chief Guest Shri. S.Ramalingam, BA., Member of Parliament, Mayiladuthurai Constituency and the special invitee Dr.Kovi. Chezhian, Member of Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu, Thiruvidaimaruthur Constituency and all other special delegates, staff of HPT., Kumbakonam and public etc. The function started with Thamizhthai Vazhthu. After flag hoisting Trees were planted by Shri. S.Ramalingam, BA, MP. and Dr.Kovi. Chezhian, MLA. The function ended with National Anthem.

Google to digitise Doordarshan and All India Radio archives, host live streams of national events: Report
As such, the upcoming Independence Day celebrations would also be live-streamed on YouTube from 06.30 am. The link for the same will be available on Google Search for desktop and mobile users, it added. Further, the tech giant would also aid the public broadcaster to digitise over two decades worth of content from its properties, Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR), across 12 Indian languages. The archives will be hosted on Google Arts & Culture, it stated.
"With this, we are hoping to bring the best of Prasar Bharati’s broadcast programming to digital users across age-groups, in varied languages, and topics that are integral to India’s rich history and culture," Chetan Krishnaswamy, Director - Public Policy at Google India and South Asia, said.
Shashi Shekhar, CEO of Prasar Bharati, added that the partnership had been instrumental in bringing the content of national interest to a wide range of global audiences via the digital platform. "The partnership has also played a key role in creating mindshare for the public broadcaster among the young audience who are digitally savvy and are increasingly consuming media through smartphones and other mobile handsets," he added.

आकाशवाणी कोल्हापूर केंद्र मे बड़े हर्षोल्हास के साथ भारत का 73 वा स्वातंत्र दिवस मनाया गया । इस शुभ अवसर पर सुबह 08:30 बजे केंद्राध्यक्ष श्री सतीश पडळकर सहायक अभियंता इन के करकमलों द्वारा ध्वजारोहण समारोह संपन्न हुआ ।समारोह के लिए कार्यक्रम विभाग प्रमुख श्री सुनील गायकवाड (कार्यक्रम अधिकारी ), तथा श्री संजय पेटकर (सहायक अभियंता ) दूरदर्शन अनुरक्षन केंद्र, कोल्हापूर एवम आकाशवाणी और दूरदर्शन के सभी अधिकारी और कर्मचारी उपस्थित थे ।आकाशवाणी कोल्हापूर के प्रेषित स्थल पन्हाला आस्थापना पर वरिष्ठ अभियांत्रिकी सहायक श्री हदपद अभियांत्रिकी सहायक इन्होने ध्वजारोहण किया ।

Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi fromer ADG, Doordarshan awarded President's Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service
1. Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi, former Additional Director General Doordarshan Delhi and South India and an Eminent and Popular name among Kannidigas, yet, a very humble person, has been closely associated with Karnataka Civil Defence, since 2005 as a volunteer.
2. Being a very senior media person, he effectively and efficiently served as a link between Media, Government, Public and Civil Defence Authorities. His tenure in Doordarshan was also hailed for bringing Defence Forces,Police and Civil Defence Forces closer to people.
3. He was instrumental in conducting many interactive programmes, discussions and other programs related to Civil Defence and Disaster Management in Karnataka and in Delhi. He has been instrumental in organising many National and International Seminars on Civil Defence and Disaster Management in Association with Government, NGOs and International Oraganisations.4. Recognising the contributions, he made towards overall development of the Karnataka Civil Defence, he was appointed as "Honorary Civil Defence Advisor to the Home Minister of Karnataka" during 2009 and 2010.
5. He was awarded "Plaque of Honour" by Karnataka Civil Defence in 2013.
6. Director General Civil Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India , commended the services of Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi and awarded "DG Disc" for the excellent services rendered by him in the year 2013.
7.He was later awarded "Chief Minister of Karnataka Gold Medal for the Meritorious Service" in Year 2015.
8. Considering his valuable Service, Ability, Merit and Devotion to Duty, the President of India, has awarded "President's Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service" on the occasion of the Independence Day 2019.

सांगली और कोल्हापुर में आये हुए पानी की बाढ के कारण पीडित परिवारोंको मदत करने हेतु लायन्स क्लब ऑफ पुणे नवचैतन्य और पुणे जागृती ग्रुप की ओर से हेल्प कलेक्शन ड्राइव्ह का आयोजन 15 अगस्त स्वतंत्रता दिन के अवसरपर किया गया
।
इसमें बिबवेवाडी परिसर के तथा क्लोलब सदस्योंने पुरूष / महिला / बच्चोंके नये तथा पुराने कपडे, साडीयॉ, सँनिटरी नँपकिन्स, सुटकेस, सँक बँग्ज, और 500 किलो के उपर अनाज जमा किया। और शाम 6 बजे सांगली और कोल्हापुर को ट्रक से रवाना किया।
नवचैतन्य क्लब के संस्थापक एमजेएफ लायन विजय सोनवणे इन्होने आर्थिक निधी रू. 25000/- भी सांगली के लायन्स क्लब के खातेमें जमा की।

Kargil Celebrated 73rd Independence Day H C Joshi Hoisted National Flag at AIR Kargil
In Ladakh, the Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan hoisted the national flag at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang, and took salute at an impressive March Past comprising of contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police, NCC, Army and Civil Band Party and troupes of Government and private schools on the 73rd Independence Day. Thousands of People from the adjoining villages of Kargil gathered at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang with patriotic fervor and gaiety.
Meanwhile The Head of Office All India Radio Kargil H C Joshi, hoisted the National Flag at All India Radio Kargil Headquarters at Baroo in which all the officials, Family Members and some more than 50 inmates of Bal Ashram participated.
On this occasion interacting with the employees and paying tribute to those who sacrificed to gain Independence to the Nation, HC Joshi told that all the member of the society has to come forward and work for the whole society as well as for the Nation. He further told that All India Radio is the Public Service Broadcaster and all the section of All India Radio Kargil should work hard to provide the best service whether it be Programme Production, News, or quality of the service.
National Flag was also hoisted at HPT Kurbathang by Programme Head Lobzang Namgyal, AIR Drass, Tai Suru and Padum and the employees celebrated 73rd Independence Day.

AIR Bengaluru brodcasted Special Programme "YOUNG INDIA - FREEDOM RHYTHMS 2019".
AIR Bengaluru has planned to broadcast several programmes on the occasion of 73 rd Independence Day. In a Special Programme“YOUNG INDIA - FREEDOM RHYTHMS 2019”, young and upcoming artists are encouraged by providing an authentic platform to portray their talents.
“YOUNG INDIA - FREEDOM RHYTHMS 2019” was a unique program broadcasted live before invited audience at the studios of AIR Bengaluru from 10 am to 11am presented by the members of Anireekshita Troupe. This troupe has gained popularity in India and abroad as well by their music renditions. They were selected to represent AIR at ABU Radio festival - 2018 at Kazakhstan arranged by Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union. The artists of the troupe were Siddarth Belemannu,Vishak Ramprasad,Roopak Kallurkar,Pranavdath,Naveena H.S. and Shashank Jodidar. This special programme was broadcasted live all over Karnataka on MW 612 KHz, on Raagam 24x7, FM Rainbow and Amruthavarshini. The live broadcast started with a devotional song “Gajamukhane” by Vyasarayaru. This was followed by an enthralling Fusion Music “Anireekshitha”. Then a patriotic song “Geludaniya gudagudisi”, which was followed by a famous romantic song by Da.Ra.Bendre ”Naanu badavi”. Next was Prandaradasa’s “Summaniru manave” followed by a melodious Hori “Khelath hai Giridhar Murari”. The compere for the programme was our announcer Smt. Nirmala S.
All the traditional and patriotic songs were composed and presented with a novel approach and was well received and appreciated by the invited audience in the studios as well as our ardent listeners from across the State of Karnataka.

Obituary : DD news anchor Neelum Sharma passes away
News anchor Neelum Sharma, who was associated with India's public service broadcaster Doordarshan News for over 20 years, breathed her last on Saturday. The news of her demise was flashed on the official Twitter account of DD News and, according to reports, she was battling cancer.
"DD News mourns passing away of our dear Colleague Neelum Sharma. A founding anchor with over 20 years of association with DD news, she played a stellar role in many capacities. From 'Badi Charcha' to 'Tejasvini' her path-breaking programmes won accolades including Nari Shakti Award," the tweet read.
Neelum was honoured with Nari Shakti Puraskar by President Ram Nath Kovind earlier this year. The sudden demise of the journalist has left people in shock. Remembering her, people from all walks of life took to social media to pay condolences.
Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted: "Shocked to know that Neelum Sharma is no more. Lots of memories from All India Radio and DD. The sober and gracious anchor would be missed by all."
"Just learned of the sad demise of veteran anchor Neelam Sharma who was recently awarded Nari Shakti Award.Prayers and condolences from entire Prasar Bharati parivar to her family," Shashi Shekhar, CEO Prasar Bharati (Doordarshan & All India Radio) wrote.
