Cruel hands of destiny had snatched away from us, one of our brilliant, energetic young officer Neeraj Goel in a road accident near his home at Merrut, one year ago at the age of 49. 

Neeraj was working Dy. Director General (E), Studio Maintenance Section at Akashvani Directorate, New Delhi. He had earlier worked at various sections of Directorate - M&C Section, IT Division etc. and had left a mark every where. He was Dy. Director General(E) of Radio Kashmir, Srinagar during the devastating floods of 2015 and had handled the situation bravely.

Shri Soumendu Kumar Mohanty, E.A. expired today (31.10.2017) in a road accident while returning from LPTV, Bhuban under DDMC, Dhenkanal. He was very young, around 32 years and had a small son aged about 3 years. He was a young and dynamic staff of our department. He was previously at RSTIT, Bhubhaneswar.

PB Parivar condoles the tragic demise of Shri Soumendu Kumar Mohanty and prays for the peace of the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.

Obituary : KS Achudan (72) Retd. Director(News), DDK Bangalore expires

Shri Khadri S. Achudan Former Director News of Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore expired on 29th October 2017 at Bangalore. He was admitted to a hospital for chest disease for past two weeks. Born on 18.01.945 at Mallukote, Mandiya District, Karnataka, Shri Achudan had his education at Mysore and started his career as a sub editor with Kannada Daily "Sanyukta Karnataka".

Shri Achutan was a highly respected journalist and was awarded by the State Govt., Rajyot Sava Award for excellence in journalism. Shri Achutan is survived by his wife and two children. 

PB parivar condoles the demise of Shri Achutan and prays for the peach of the departed soul.

आकाशवाणी इन्दौर के ​लोकप्रिय एवं बेहद सहनशील कार्यक्रम अधिकारी एवं पूर्व कार्यक्रम प्रमुख श्री सिद्धनाथ सोलंकी आज अपना कार्यकाल पूर्ण कर आकाशवाणी की सेवाओं से सेवानिृत्त होने जा रहे हैं । 

17 ऑक्टोम्बर 1957 को उज्जैन में जन्में श्री सिद्धनाथ ने उज्जैन से ही जूलॉजी में बीएससी Bs और उसके बाद बी लिब का अध्ययन किया । शासकीय सेवा की शुरूआत आपने सन् 1978 में आलीराजपुर शासकीय कॉलेज में लाइब्रेरियन के पद से की । आकाशवाणी में आपके कार्यकाल की शुरूआत 1जुलाई 1980 को आकाशवाणी लेह (लद्दाख )में लाइब्रेरियन के पद से हुई । 1981 से 1987 तक आकाशवाणी इंदौर में इसी पद पर नियुक्त हुए । 1988 में प्रसारण निष्पादक के रूप में पदोन्नति पाकर छतरपुर ज्वाईन हुए इसी पद पर रहते हुए खंडवा और इंदौर में कार्य किया । 2002 में कार्यक्रम अधिकारी की पदोन्नति पाकर झालवाड़, बालाघाट, इंदौर केन्द्रों में सेवा की और इन्दौर में ही प्रोग्राम हेड के रूप में भी कार्य किया । 

अपने 37 साल 4 माह के आकाशवाणी के सेवा काल में श्री सिद्धनाथ दो बार आकाशवाणी वार्षिक पुरस्कार पा चुके हैं । राष्ट्रीय और राज्यस्तरीय स्तर पर कईं रूपक नाटक और विशेष कार्यक्रम आपके द्वारा प्रस्तुत एवं प्रसारित किए गए हैं । कार्यक्रम प्रमुख के रूप में झालावाड़ बालाघाट और इंदौर में कार्य करते हुए विज्ञापन राजस्व अर्जन में उल्लेखनीय भूमिका निभाई । सिंहस्थ महाकुंभ 2016 उज्जैन के दौरान सम्पूर्ण देश के केन्द्रों से 3 शाही स्नान का तीन घंटे का आँखों देखा हाल अनोखे अंदाज में प्रसारित कर एतिहासिक 1 करोड़ 50 लाख के राजस्व प्राप्ति में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान भी आपकी उल्लेखनीय उपलब्धि रही है ।

परदे के पीछे रहने वाले श्री सोलंकी ने आकाशवाणी इन्दौर के कई महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रमों में दिन—रात समय देखें बिना अपनी सेवायें दी है । दूर—सुदूर की ओबी करनी हो तो श्री सोलंकी सहर्ष तैयार हो जाया करते थे । इन्दौर के आस—पास के 14 जिलों में श्री सोलंकी ने आकाशवाणी का बेहद मजबूत श्रोता वर्ग तैयार किया था । श्री सोलंकी ने जिस भी कार्यक्र्म प्रभारी के रूप में कार्य किया उसमें उन्होने अधिकतम नये लोगों, नई आवाजों को अवसर दिया उन्हें प्रोत्साहित किया । आकाशवाणी इन्दौर के पास वर्तमान में अच्छे केज्युअल एनाउंसर एवं ​कम्पियर हैं उसके पीछे नि:संदेह श्री सोलंकी की मेहनत भी रही है ।

SP Tyagi, AE, P&D unit, DG:AIR retires

Shri SP Tyagi, Assistant Engineer, P&D unit, DG: AIR, Akashvani Bhavan, New Delhi retired from government service on 31.10.2017. Apart from working at P&D unit, shri Tyagi also worked at HPT Malad, Mumbai, Research Department, AIR & Doordarshan, Delhi and various AIR stations. Shri Tyagi was considered an expert in the field of propagation studies and has contributed to many national and international studies, His contribution in developing the software for planning of Radio and TV services, PLANTVFM & BROADPLAN and in Development of the field strength prediction curves for tropical region under ABU studies has been tremendous.

PB parivar extends it's best wishes to Shri SP Tyagi for a peaceful and contended retired life.

Inspiration-Meet a doctor who treats homeless for free.

Dr Abhijeet Sonawane who works for the homeless and beggars, believes that only medicines alone cannot cure a disease. Care and mental support plays a vital role in boosting a person’s will power to get better and live a healthy life.

In most cases it is we who go to visit a doctor when we are unwell, but a doctor in Pune is doing something unique to help people in need of medical help. In Indian society, we regard doctors at saviours; this doctor visits religious places and helps the poor and elderly with their health needs. It seems poetic that a doctor can be in a house of God and treat people for their ailments.

Meet a doctor from Pune who has chosen an unconventional way of treating patients. Dr Abhijeet Sonawane visits shrines and religious places and treats elderly and physically challenged homeless people who beg to survive. He carries two bags full of medicines on his bike. Everyday from 10 am to 4 pm goes to famous temples and mosques in Pune to do health a check-up of the homeless people present there. After the check-up he gives them medicines.

“I consider it a way to give back to society. When I was going through a difficult phase in my life, such people had helped me to fight the problems. At this point in my career, I am in position to help them and that’s why I am doing it,” Dr Abhijeet Sonawane said.

According to Dr Sonawane only medicines alone cannot cure a disease. Care and mental support plays a vital role in boosting a person’s will power to get better and live a healthy life. Because of this conviction Dr Sonawane tries to comfort them by striking up a conversation with them. “There are so many government schemes which aim to rehabilitate such homeless people. But they will not actively participate in the rehabilitation process unless they are convinced that we actually care. That’s why I talk to them and try to understand what has made them homeless. After a while they open up and share their heart wrenching stories,” informed Dr Sonawane

Dr Sonawane gives medicines on the spot to homeless people after they are checked. If a patient’s condition appears to be critical then he refers patient to government and private multi-specialty hospitals. “Dr Sonawane’s initiative is remarkable. In my clinic he often sends such patients. I do it as a part of social responsibility. We often get patients of Dengue, typhoid and malaria. We treat them in minimum cost,” Dr Sandeep Agarwal who runs a multi-specialty hospital in Pune.

Retirement of Sh. Sudheer Rakhecha,DD(P) AIR Jaipur

Shri Sudhir Rakhecha, Deputy Director ( Programme ) All India Radio, Jaipur superannuates after a glorious service of thirty seven years. Shri Rakhecha joined All India Radio Bikaner as Production Assistant and then was selected by UPSC as Programme Executive, Hindi Spoken Word and Feature. He worked at almost a dozen stations, prominent among them are, Bikaner, Ambikapur, Rewa, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Nagaur and Jaipur. Humour was his specialisation. Many of his memorable productions adorn the archives of the stations where he was posted. A very competent and hard working programmer and administrator, Shri Rakhecha handled many ticklish issues during his long stint at AIR, Jaipur, the zonal station. He is blessed with a son. Who is pursuing his career in computers. The vacuum left behind by Shri Rakhecha will not be filled till a long time. We wish him a happy and retired life.

आकाशवाणी जयपुर के उप निदेशक (कार्यक्रम) श्री सुधीर राखेचा आकाशवाणी की 37 वर्षों की सेवा पश्चात 31.10.2017 को सेवा निवृत्त हो गए।इस अवसर पर आयोजित विदाई समारोह में निदेशक (अभियांत्रिकी) श्री विजय इसरानी ने राजस्थानी साफा बांध राखेचा जी का अभिनंदन किया।विज्ञापन प्रसारण सेवा प्रमुख श्री राकेश जैन ने माल्यार्पण कर राखेचा जी के साथ अपने अनुभवों की चर्चा की।कार्यक्रम अधिशाषी रेशमा खान,सुनील गंजू ने भी अपने उद्गार व्यक्त किये।श्रोता अनुसंधान अधिकारी श्री एस के मीणा ने उनके साथ अपने लंबे कार्य अनुभवों को साझा किया।निदेशक (अभियांत्रिकी) श्री इसरानी जी ने राखेचा जी के साथ अपने अनुभव बताये ओर उनके साथ अपने 3 वर्षों के कार्यकाल को एक स्वर्णिम समय बताया।राखेचा जी ने प्रोडक्शन असिस्टेंट के रूप में 1980 में आकाशवाणी बीकानेर से अपनी सेवा आरम्भ की थी।तत्पश्चात कार्यक्रम अधिशाषी के पद पर ग्वालियर,अम्बिकापुर,रीवा,भोपाल,सूरतगढ़,जोधपुर,नागौर और बाड़मेर केंद्रों पर कार्य किया।सहायक केंद्र निदेशक के रूप में आप जैसलमेर,चित्तोड़गढ़, जोधपुर व जयपुर रहे।अंततः जयपुर केंद्र पर उप निदेशक (कार्यक्रम) के रूप में अपनी सेवा देते हुए सेवा निवृत्त हुए।

आकाशवाणी के अपने लंबे कार्य अनुभवों को याद करते हुए श्री राखेचा जी ने सभी के प्रति आभार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि आपका स्नेह मुझे हमेशा याद रहेगा और आप सब भी अपनी दुआओं में मुझे याद रखें।

Shri Ravindra Ranjekar AE AIR Pune bereaved

Shri Kamlakar Ranjekar, father of Shri Ravindra Ranjekar left for his heavenly abode yesterday, i.e. 31-10-2017 at 11.34 pm. Funeral will take place at Vaikunth, Pune at around 11.45 hrs, today, i.e. 01.11.2017.  Shri Kamlakar Ranjekar was born to a noble family of practicing doctor in 1930 but had to face severe hardships when he lost his father while he was about 10 years old. With meager financial resources and help from good people, he completed his studies successfully. He served mostly in Marathwada region of Maharashtra and as an Agricultural Extension Officer travelled deep into villages. He was regarded as their own by thousands of village farmers and also tried to pay back by supporting the education of hundreds of poor children.

आपने कुछ वर्षों तक आकाशवाणी इन्दौर में सहायक समाचार संपादक के रूप में भी अपनी सेवायें आकाशवााणी को दी हैं । 
कार्यक्रम अधिकारी के रूप में पदोन्नत होकर आपने बैतूल, बालाघाट और भोपाल में भी अपनी सेवायें दी । सीबीएस आकाशवाणी भोपाल में आपका कार्यकाल बेहद सराहनीय रहा इस दौरान आपने कई बार दिए गए टारगेट से ज्यादा राजस्व की प्राप्ति करने की उपलब्धि हासिल की है इस के लिए आपको 5 बार राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार से भी नवाज़ा जा चुका है । 
वर्तमान में आप विज्ञापन प्रसारण सेवा आकाशवाणी भोपाल की कार्यालय एवं कार्यक्रम प्रमुख का प्रभार देख रही थी इस दौरान आपने मध्यप्रदेश एवं छत्तीसगढ़ के विभिन्न आकाशवाणी केन्द्रों को राजस्व प्राप्ति हेतु प्रेरित करने में विशेष भूमिका निभाई है ।

As per Directorates order, all the staff members of AIR Vadodara have taken integrity pledge on 30th Oct’17 as well as e-pledge. To make all staff aware about the rules and regulations, a workshop has also been conducted today i.e 1st Nov’ 17. Sh. Narendra Sinha, Manager Vigilance from Food Corporation of India, Vadodara has wonderfully conducted this session and given insight of all inquiry proceedings, conduct rules, minor and major penalties, etc. This session was very fruitful.
