Dr. Sunil Keshav Deodhar, Asst. Director (Prog.) retired on 31st July 2016 after completion of 38 years of dedicated service. He was M.A. in Hindi and Economics. Also completed PhD in Hindi.
In 1978 he joined AIR Chhatarpur (M.P.) as Announcer. In 1990 he cracked UPSC and joined as Programme Executive. He served AIR Chhatarpur, AIR Mumbai and AIR Pune. He joined AIR Pune in 2014 as PEX. In July 2016 he got promotion as Assistant Director in AIR Pune. 
During his tenure in AIR he produced several dramas and features. He established and made very popular 'Kalash' - Hindi magazine programme. He was a versatile personality having immense knowledge of Hindi literature which saw its repercussion in his programmes. His programmes were mainly meant for a studied listeners. Exhaustive research and extreme passion to give his best, made his programmes outstanding. Beside routine programmes, he conceptualised several series like 'Zinda Kahaniya, Bade Anmol Geetonke Bol' etc. He was known to AIR people as a disciplinarian and hard talk master. But he was more popular outside for his talented and mesmerising compering of various musical programmes. He also worked as member of Board of studies - Hindi language in Pune University, Ex - member of Workers Education Board Pune, Ex - Member of Board of Studies - Marathi language. He was selected as Poet/ Lyric on AIR panel. He delivered speeches on various subjects in various institutes and organisations. Audience were enthralled by his comparing during cultural, musical programmes. मत खींचो अंतर रेखाएँ – (कविता), मोहन से महात्मा, शब्द कलश, संवाद अभी शेष है, आकाश में घूमते शब्द, लिखिकागद कोरे काग़ज़ की ज़मीन पर ( सम्पादन ) are his published books. कथा इसरो की (मराठी से हिन्दी अनुवाद) नैशनल बुक ट्रस्ट, नई दिल्ली से प्रकाशित, आदमी और परछाई (मराठी से हिन्दी अनुवाद) नैशनल बुक ट्रस्ट, नई दिल्ली से प्रकाशित. झुलू (मराठी से हिन्दी अनुवाद) नैशनल बुक ट्रस्ट, नई दिल्ली से प्रकाशित, पासा पलट गया ( हिन्दी से मराठी अनुवाद) – 3 बाल नाटक, एक पल का मधुमास ( गीतों की संगीतमय सी.डी.), सात फेरे, सात वचन ( सी.डी. - मराठी से हिन्दी अनुवाद) are his published translated books and CDs.

His farewell ceremony was organised in AIR Pune on 29th July in Auditorium. The response from all staff was overwhelming. The function was very soulful and touching.
All staff of AIR Pune and prasar bharati parivar wishes him a very happy, healthy, peaceful and contended retired life.
These officers have given 30-35 years of their prime life to the organization and their contributions have helped AIR and Doordarshan stand as proud public broadcasters of the country. We thank these officers for their services to the organization and wish them a happy retired life.
