Commissioned on the 26th day of May, 1963, All India Radio, Sambalpur has completed 58th years of dedicated service to the nation and upholding the art, culture, tradition of this part of the state. During its long journey a lot of technical innovations have taken place. The 2x10 KW MW Analog Transmitter has been upgraded to Digitally Ready Nautel NX-100 Transmitter in the recent past. Functioning of FM Mahanadi at frequency 101 MHz added a new dimensions of infotainment. Introduction of morning Sambalpuri news bulletin with effect from 1st March, 2020 has added another feather to its cap.
Streaming of AIR, Sambalpur and FM Mahanadi on Newsonair App has facilitated the listeners residing at far away places.
A special interview programme with the then Addl. Director General, Prasar Bharati Shri Abhaya Kumar Padhi, a true son of the soil, will be broadcast tomorrow at 11.30 A.M (26-05-2020) entitled "Role of Akashvani, Sambalpur for the development of this area".
