I am Nirmal Kumar, Technician, working in LPT, Vaniyambadi, Salem DMC, Tamilnadu. On March 29, 2020, I came to attend my duty from my native place Arani, which is 120 km away from our LPT, Vaniyambadi. Although there is no transport, I was very much happy to attend the duty in the critical situation. I enjoyed my journey with my bike and faced some police check up. But they helped me to attend my shifts without delay, on seeing our Doordarshan logo on my bike.
Finally I reached my office within two hours, and I was happy to do my duty specially for 'MAAN KI BAAT' our beloved Prime minister's speech to the Nation in this critical situation. Incharge Smt. Santhi. Engineering Assistant., encouraged me to go and do my service without fear. As you know there is no security guards in LPT , although I was very happy to do my small service to our Nation.
There is no printer shop in my town due to lockdown, so, the drawing of our DD logo and letters on front side of my bike were done by my sister's kids namely Swetha and Poornima. This was very helpful while in traffic.
