Indian television's most iconic teleserial from the late 80s 'Ramayana' is all said to bring back the childhood nostalgia. The serial will be re-telecast once again from 28th March amid the 21-day nationwide lockdown after popular demand.
The series which originally ran from January 1987 to July 1988, will be re-telecast on DD National.
In the late 80s, when the serial would be telecast on Sunday morning, streets would be virtually deserted with most of the country glued to their TV screens. Over three decades later, the streets are empty once again, albeit for a very different reason - as Indian is in a nationwide lockdown to slow down the transmission of the coronavirus.
"Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting telecast of 'Ramayana' from tomorrow, Saturday, March 28 in DD National One episode in morning 9 am to 10 am, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm.,"said Prakash Javadekar.
