Smt.Uma Dhar who breathed her last today was a simple, sweet lady associated with Drama section of Radio Kashmir Srinagar up to the year 1990.
She was an able copyist who translated Dramas of almost all the languages in which AIR stations produced their Dramas. She having herself got exposure to Drama Section of Radio Kashmir Srinagar was an accomplished Drama artist in her own right whose voice was utilised in many roles by her producer Sh.Pran Kishore . She helped many artists and was witness to rise of Famous abd veteran artists like Sajda and Nabla begum, Bharti Zaroo, Kantiyani Ganjoo, Makhan lal Saraf and scores of other artists. She also interacted in her own capacity as copyist with brilliant minds of her time like Sh GHhulam Rasool Santosh, Mohan Nirash, Ali. Mohd.Lone, H.K.Bharti, Pushkar Bhan and others. She was married to Sh.Umesh Koul, who himself was an accomplished producer.
Prasar Bharati Parivar condoles the demise of Smt. Uma Dhar and prays to the almighty for the peace of departed soul and strength to the family to bear the loss.
