Radio Kashmir Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir Academy of art, Culture and Languages, jointly felicitated Sh. Prakash Premi ,a renowned Dogri writer in a function at K.L Saigal Hall, Jammu, under its regular series of interaction and felicitation programme entitled ‘JHAROKHA’. This was 17th edition of the joint venture of the two organizations.Born on August ,16,1943 in Ramnagar District Udhampur, Sh. Prakash Premi has the honour of being awarded by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi for his book “Bedan Dharti Di” and also for National Translation award . In addition to these he also been awarded with J&K Accession Award in reorganization of his literary pursuits.Prof Champa Sharma, eminent Dogri writer, scholar and former HOD, PG department of Dogri, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest whereas Station Director radio Kashmir Jammu , Sh. Vijay Sambyal ,Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Sh. Prakash Premi were also present in the presidium .
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Champa Sharma appreciated the efforts of RKJ and JKAACL who have decided to felicitate the senior and veteran personalities in the field of Art, Cultural and Languages on 4th of every month . She said that this effort of the Academy and Radio not only play a mark of respect to the felicitator but it also provides an opportunity to younger generation to have an interaction with one and another. While appreciating the contribution of Prakash Premi she further said that he is an ability of creative writing in all fields like poetry, short story, satire and translation in Dogri. She also thanked the JKAACL and Radio for such successful programme.
Earlier, delivering his welcome address Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages threw light on the work line for starting this programme Jharokha in association with Radio Kashmir, Jammu and described that how particular was the Director Sh. Vijay Sambyal to start this programme . He further said that today this programme has touched the heights of success and now is popular among the common masses . Sh Darshan Darshi, renowned Dogri writer, poet and scholar read out detailed paper on the life and works of Sh Parkash Premi . Sh. Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri readout Citation on the occasion.Sh. Prakash Premi also spoke on the occasion. In his speech, he highlighted some important moments of his life and also presented some of his best collection of his writings. A memento was also presented to Sh VK Sambyal Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu on the occasion .
