SSM Community Radio wins award.

The SSM Community Radio 90.8 of the SSM College of Engineering, Komarapalayam, in Namakkal district, has won the first prize in the National Community Radio Awards 2016 given by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It has received the first prize under the category ‘promoting local culture’. It won the prestigious award for the programme “Tholekalai Payanam”.

Hon. Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Finance and Information and Broadcasting, handed over the award to Esther Gnanapoo, Head of the Department of MBA, SSM College of Engineering and Station Manager of the SSM Community Radio 90.8, at 6th National Community Radio Sammelan held on the theme ‘Community Radio in India: towards diversity and sustainability’ at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on March 18.
