The Rural Programme Advisory Meeting of Farm and Home programmes in All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram was conducted on 05th February 2019, at VFPCK Anchal Self-reliant Farmers’ Market Hall. This is a quarterly consultative body comprising of representatives from various Government departments, central and state organizations in Agriculture, dairy and animal husbandry and allied areas as well as NGOs, farmers, officers of All India Radio and all related persons. This meeting reviews Farm and Home programmes of All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram and suggests various programmes and activities that may be taken up in the upcoming quarter.
The RPAC meeting was presided over by Shri. P M Unnikrishnan Unnithan, Assistant Director (Programmes), All India Radio. The meeting was inaugurated by Shri. Saji John, Chief Executive Officer of Vegetable and Fruits Promotion Council of Kerala. The Review-Preview report was presented by Shri. Muraleedharan Thazhakara, Programme Executive for Farm and Home, All India Radio. The meeting was attended by 45 delegates from various Government departments, State and Central Institutions and non-governmental institutions in addition to the farmers. The meeting fruitfully discussed and proposed various topics to be included in the upcoming quarter, in the broadcast of Farm and Home programme of All India Radio, Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting also appreciated the initiation of Night time mobile Emergency Veterinary care unit started in Chirayinkeezhu Block Panchayath. This was a prominent proposal raised by the previous RPAC meeting conducted at Chirayinkeezhu. The proposal was taken up and implemented on fast track by the Block Panchayath. Shri. Unnikrishnan Unnithan, AD(P) hailed this as one of the many positive outcomes of our RPAC meetings and the farmer-centric approach of All India Radio.
