Coverage of a traditional event "MAVILLAKU" by AIR FM LRS Dharmapuri Tamilnadu

AIR FM LRS Dharmapuri Tamilnadu provided a coverage to traditional event held at Malaiyur a hamlet situated at a height of 960 mts on a hillock, near Sajanahalli village of Pickley Panchayat of Dharmapuri District.

The traditional event known as MAVILLAKU Festival to the traditional deity Mariamman is celebrated for the past 200 years.Women involve themselves actively in this festival. They prepare a traditional Mavillakku with rice flour and other ingredients which is offered as prasad to the devotees. The entirte village with a total of about 1000 inhabitants abound with hospitality for all the visitors without any discrimination. Traditional Music enhances the religious flavour of this event.

AIR FM LRS Dharmapuri, Tamilnadu broadcast the above traditional event on 16/06/2016 at 8.30 am.It was produced by Shri.R.Murali PEX CO. It was well recieved by the villagers who were known less to the public and as there is no bus facility inspite of a road facility and there is no medical facility and the woes of women during delivery time is pathetic.
