Renowned music director, top grade Composer of AIR, Cuttack, Sri Omprakash Mohanty has composed a beautiful piece of trance music that forms the core of the theme song for the ongoing radio mega serial on Bapuji entitled MAHATMA on his 150th Birth Anniversary. The dramatic serial begins on the 2nd October, 2018 and will run up to and including 32nd episode. DG, AIR has already accorded a place of significance to project in the calendar of National Programmes, drawn out to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Father of the Nation.
The serial which is first of its kind on All India Radio, traces the growth of Mohandas from a reluctant law student to a seasoned leader who brought India its much deserving independence in 1947.The title music is a fusion of modern sensibilities and traditional flavors foregrounding Bapu's favorite songs. Sitar virtuoso Rabi Shankar Pradhan, a top grade sitarist at AIR, Cuttack creates the background drone in sync with the narration.
