In elections of Jammu and Kashmir Urdu council Dr.Javeed Iqbal ,Javed Matji ,Aijaz Kakroo, & Javed kirmani have been elected as president,GN Secretary,vice president & Publicity secretary respectively. For his services to art culture and Languages during last 50 years former Additional Director General Doordarshan Dr.Rafeeq Masoodi alongwith Jan Muhammad Azad and GN Var were nominated as advisors for next 3 years .Urdu council works for the promotion and upliftment of official language urdu in j&k.
