Archive is a store house of historical records or special recordings of great personalitis or the physical place they are located. Archives contains primary source documents that have accumulated over the course of an individual or organization is lifetime and are kept to listen personality of person or organization. A special project launched in this year by All India Radio, Mangalore i.e. to archival recording of Dr Amruth Someshwar(84). He was a member of Programme Advisory Committee of Akashvani Mangalore in 2007 and he was honored with Akashvani Annual Award. Dr. Amruth Someshwar wrote more than 85 books in Kannada and Tulu language. Tulu is a rich ancient language with a prominent place in the Dravidian language category. The area between the Kalyanpura river and chandragiri river of the western coast is the place where most of the people speak Tulu.Dr. Amruth Someshwar is a resource person for Akashvani Manalore. Since last 40 years, he is contributing talks, thoughts for the day, plays, features and lyrics, poem recitation both in Kannada and Tulu. So many people did Phd on his literature work. He is closely associated with Akashvani, Mangalore and gives his valuable advises. He is an ardent listener also.
Dr. Vasanthkuamr Perla, ASD and Programme Head, Sri P. S. Suryanarayna Bhat, PEX, Smt. Concepta Fernanadis, PEX and Dr. B. M. Sharabendraswamy, PEX arranged the archival interviews at the poets residence at Someshwara. Sri Shripathi Bhat, SEA rcorded the interview.
Dr. Vasanthkumar Perla, ASD and Programme Head of the Station presented a flower bouquet to Prof. Amrutha Someshwara and welcomed on behalf of Akashvani Mangalore. Dr. Gananath Shetty Ekkaru, a writer both in Kannada and Tulu and also State Co-ordinator of NSS interviewed Prof. Amrutha Someshwara.
