All India Radio is always supporting the development of agriculture, environmental and social policies conductive to sustainable family farming said Dr. I Shankaregouda, Director of Research University of Agriculture Science, Raichur in his inaugural speech. He was inaugurating one day seminar on water management and soil health on Kissan Diwas-2018 conducted by All India Radio, Raichur in collaboration with HUF Samooha, Devadurga, ICAR Krishi Vignyana Kendra and Agriculture Dept., Raichur at Jangamara Hatti Village, Sindhanuru Taluk. He stressed on sustainable management in agriculture aims to match water availability and water needs in quantity and quality, in space and time, at reasonable cost and with acceptable environmental impact. Its adoptation involoves technological problems, social behavior of rural communities, economic constrains, legal and institutional framework and agricultural practices he said.

Dr. M. Kiran kumar, Joint Director of Agriculture Department explained facility available in Agriculture Dept., to the farmers and they should get it in time. They need awareness in this regard. Radio's are low cost effective media to the farmers and it will reach easily said in his Chief Guest address. NGO's are doing bridge work to the Government, society as well as farmers said S.S. Ghanti, Dy. Director, Samooha, Devadurga in his Chief Guest address. NGO's are trying to upliftment of farmers social status in the society he said.
Innovative irrigation practices can enhance water efficiency, gaining an economic advantage while also reducing environmental burdens. In some cases the necessary knowledge has been provided by extension services, helping farmers to adapt and implement viable soloutions, this gaining more benefits from irrigation technology through our media said M. Every year February 15th was celebrated as Radio Kissan Diwas and All India Radio is broadcasting Kissan vani programme from 6.50pm to 7.35pm daily said Dr. V. G. Bavalatti in his introduction address.
D. Sharavanan, Dy. Director of Samooha NGO, Kanakagiri, and Dr. B. S.. Police Gowder, Associate Proffesor of UAS delivered lecture on Water management and Soil health respectively. Ramlingappa Sahukar, Shivakumar Patil and Smt Annapoornamma Progressive farmers are special invited to this function. Radio sets are distributed in this function to the selected farmers.
