20th Anniversary of Prasar Bharati was celebrated in AIR Coimbatore.

20th Anniversary of Prasar Bharati was celebrated in a befitting manner at All India Radio, Coimbatore. In this connection, Swachh Bharat and massive tree planting activities was planned at our transmitter complex at Chettipalayam, Coimbatore. As the transmitter area is located in a barren land, plants were choosen keeping in view of the weather condition which may provide shade during summer. The location of the plantation was also carefully decided so that optimum benefit will be availed in the long run for the betterment of the environment. About 350 tree saplings, some shade giving and some flowering were planted.

The tree planting activity was presided over by the Head of Office, Smt K Chitralega, ADP and Head of Engineering Smt S Meenakshi, AE. Sri Yogendran popularly called Green Man who had planted around 3 lakh saplings so far, was the Chief Guest. College students, members of Let’s Thank Foundation , an NGO and staff members totaling to around 60 persons participated in this noble activity.
