MALI SMRUTHIYARANGU was held under the joint auspices of AIR Thrissur and Kadhakali Promotion Society, Peringode on 11/11/2017. This was held as part of Public Service Broadcasting Day and 20th Year celebrations of Prasarbharathy. MALI MADHAVAN NAIR was a former Station director of AIR and a noted writer and musicologist. He is remembered for his literary works for children and Karnasapadham, a story for the dance - drama, Kadhakali. Karnasapadham was penned in 1966 and first staged in Kerala on 10/2/1968. Even in its 50th year, this modern day aattakkadha(story for kadhakali) is a much sought after play along with traditional plays like Nalacharitham.The day was marked by Memorial talks by noted Kadhakali scholar Dr.P.Venugoplan and Programme Head of AIR Thrissur T.T.Prabbhakaran. Followed by staging of Karnasapadham, featuring leading artistes like Kottaykkal Chandrasekhara Warrier and Kalamandalam Rajasekharan. The nearly 5 hour long programme was attended by a receptive audience
