Children of the State should be aware of teachings of the Great Visionary and Social Leader, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, which help them value human life and humanity. This was stated by Chairman J&K Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali on the occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at All India Radio Kargil. Haji Anayat told that he wonders how a great leader like Ambedkar thought about the welfare of women, labourers and socially backward people besides laws for social welfare much before India got independence. On this occasion Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman J&K Legislative Council was the Chief Guest, who threw light on the teachings of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
It is only the vision of Dr Ambedkar that people of far-off areas like Ladakh got the fruits of social and economic upliftment through constitutional provision extended, Haji Anayat added. Later a Plantation Drive was also observed on this occasion which was inaugurated by Chairman J&K Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali by planting a tree in the Campus of AIR Colony. The Plantation Drive was organized in collaboration with the Department of Forest under its Institutional Scheme and more than 300 Plants were planted in All India Radio Kargil.On this occasion Head of Office AIR Kargil Suresh Kumar, Engineering Head Onkar Singh, Ranger Forest Department Mohammad Ilyas, News Editor Anayat Ali, Senior Announcer Mohammad Hassan Askari, Forester Shabir Hussain, Staffs and Family Members of All India Radio were also present.
