As part of public service broadcasting day and 20th year of prasarbharathy, this station is organizing " MALI SMRUTHIYARANGU" on 11 11/2017 at PERINGODE, a nearby village.V.MADHAVAN NAIR known under the pen name MALI, was a former station director of AIR. He was also a noted writer, especially children's literature. His greatest contribution is perhaps 'KARNASAPADHAM" a story for KADHAKALI, a dance drama form of Kerala[nearly 400 years old]. Written and staged at Delhi International Kadhakali Centre in 1966, Karnasapadham was first staged in Kerala in 1968 and is the most popular of modern day story.
The programme includes memorial talks on the writer and broadcaster, demonstarative talk and a staging of KARNASAPADHAM. Mali's birth centenary was in 2016. This is also the 50th year of first staging of Karnasapadham in Kerala
