Hyderabad Karnataka is a region located in north east Karnataka, and it is the Kannada speaking part of the Hyderabad State, that was ruled by the Nizams of Hyderabad until 1948. After merging with the Indian Union, the region was part of Hyderabad State until 1956. By amendment to the constitution of India, article 371(J). The Hyderabad Karnataka region comprises Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Bellary and Gulbarga that are in the present state of Karnataka. The mission of the HKRDB is to achieve rapid inclusive growth and balanced regional development with social justice for the six districts cominig under Hyderabad Karnataka region. The vision is to achieve this through Macro and Micro level planning by filling the historical developmental gaps in such a way that the centres of growth and the peripheries develop in tandems and in an interdependent manner. The HKRDB has adopted the taluka as a unit, taking guidance from the Dr. Najunadappa report on redressal of regional imbalance.
Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development board in collaboration with All India Radio, Kalburgi took initiate SSLC lessons through Radio which will start from 2nd November 2017 to 28th February 2018 from AIR Kalburgi and 8th November 2017 to 5th March 2018 from AIR Raichur and Hospete. Their main aim is improve the knowledge of Hyderabad Karnataka SSLC students. Hence it will be benefited to 39 taluk mainly - Kalburgi, Afzalpur, Aland, Chinchoi, Chitapur, Jevargi, Sedam, Kalapur, Ballary, Hospet, Hoovina Hadagalli, Kudligi, Sanduru, Sirugupppa, Kotturu, Kampli, Kurugodu, Aurad, Basavakalyan, Bidar, Bhalki, Humnabad, Chitgoppa, Hulsoor, Kamalnagar, Gangavathi, Koppala, Kustagi, Yelbarga, Raichur, Manvi, Sindhnur, Lingsugur, Sirwar, Maski, Yadgir, Shahpur and shorapur.AIR Kalburgi invite expert teachers in all subjects ie. Kannada, English, Hindi, Social Studies, Maths and Science and relay live, other two stations AIR Raichur and Hospet will broadcast from their end. All the recording, production will be done at AIR Kalburgi by the team of R. K. Govindrajan, ADP, Smt. Anjana Yatnooru, PEX, Dr. Rajendra Kulkarni, PEX, Sri. Anil Kumar and Dr. Somshekhar Ruli, PEX and this total programmes earn revenue of Rs. 75 lakh.
Each episode will be 75 minutes which includes info-entertainment consists on all the subjects. Experts will guide the students for lthe preparation of SSLC examination. Largely it will help the students and also helps to hike the percentage of results in Hyderabad-Karnataka area. The All India Radio communication method is claimed to bring enormous changes from the traditional chalk and talk method of teaching. This programme is believed to help reduce the pressure on the child
