AIR, NAGERCOIL was commissioned on 30th Oct 1984 and is the the First Local Radio Station in India The broad cast was converted into FM mode from 01.03.1997. It became full fledged station having three transmissions from 01.08.2000 on wards, by broadcasting programmes for 13 hours in a day.
By using innovative methods and interesting formats adopting latest technologies, All India Radio, Nagercoil established a new concept in broadcasting. Phone-in-progs, Phone out programmes, Rural, literature and Kisanvani progs are also well received. Programme on people's forum solve many Public grievances and is also very important one.
