All India Radio Pune got an opportunity to organize a prestigious Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 2017, one of the famous music festivals of India. The concert was organized on 7th Oct. 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in Tilak Smarak Mandir. It was a grate opportunity for the ardent music lovers of city Pune to listen to some grate performances. At the beginning there was introduction of vocalist Subra Guha. She was felicitated by Shri. Ashish Bhatnagar [DDG(E) and Head of Office]. The accompanist were Shri. Souman Sarkar on Tabla, Shri. Ajay Joglekar on Harmonium, Smt. Madhura Nawale and Smt. Sucheta Chandolkar on Tanpura. Accompanist were felicitated by Shri. Gapal Autee [Deputy Director (P) and Head of Prog. Section].
The concert began with presentation of Raga "Jaijaiwanti". Subra Guha rendered Bandish in Wilambit Khyal in Aktal (A piya hum jan li re esi tihari ghat) followed by Bandish in Drut khyal in Trital ( Jab se akhiya lagi). Then she presented Jodraga "Natbihag". Bandish in Wilambit Khyal in Aktal was 'Kaise kaise bolat moso'. Bandish in Drut khyal in Trital was 'Zan zan zan zan payliya baje'. Then she presented "Thumri" in the Poorb Ang in Mishra Kafi raga (Achara chhado kanhai). She concluded by rendering "Dadra" - Kaisa jadu dar gayo re sudh bisrat nahi. From the beginning she enthralled the audience with powerful voice and soulful rendition even though she was bereaved. She lost her mother in the morning but still she performed in Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan and maintained tunefulness. All music lovers enjoyed her presentation and appreciated her dedication towards music.
After Subra Guha's wonderful performance Ustad Kamal Sabari was invited upon stage. He was felicitated by Smt. Kalpana Gokhe [Director(E) Doordarshan Pune]. Accompanist Ustad Rashid Mustafa on Tabla was felicitated by Shri. Gapal Autee. Ustad Kamal Sabari recited Sarangi. First he presented raga Shamkalyan followed by raga Mishr Piloo. The dexterity and speed of the fingers on Sarangi created mesmerizing waves of sound and proved complete control that he has on Sarangi. He demonstrated profound versatility in playing the instrument. Audience were spellbound by the "Jugalbandi" between Sarangi and Tabla.
Packed audience at Tilak Smarak mandir captivated by both the performances. The event was hosted by Mrs. Lagoo in Marathi and Shri. Bendre in Hindi. Doordarshan Pune video recorded the concert for future telecast. All India Radio will broadcast recording of Subra Guha on 5th Nov. 2017 (Saturday) at 9:30 p.m. and recording of Ustad Kamal Sabari on 10th Nov. 2017 (Friday) at 10:00 p.m. on primary channel (792 kHz.). The recording of concert was carried out by Shri. Ravindra Ranjekar (Asst. Engg.) and his team comprising Shri. Prasad Karadkar, Shri. Nilesh Ghatole and Shri. Sagar Raut. Chief organizer of this concert was Shri. Kishor Khadkikar (PEX, Music section).
