With a view to promote the national language - a Forthnight-long "Hindi Pakhwara" was observed at the All India Radio Aizawl. The observance was held between 14 - 28 September, 2017.
Speaking on the closing ceremony, Director (Engg) & Head of Office DR Lalropuia said that Hindi Fortnight observance is held every year to promote the official language. He said that Hindi being an official language and spoken by larger population in the country to communication one against another, it is imperative to learn Hindi by one and all. He further said that with the aim of promoting Hindi in AIR Aizawl, "Hindi Speaking Classes" were conducted and an innovative initiative system called "Today's Word" in three languages - English, Hindi & Mizo were introduced at the station to learn new Hindi words and sentences everyday.

The concluding function was marked by distribution of prizes for various competitions which were held during the fortnight long observance. A melodious choir from the Administrative Staff of AIR Aizawl has aroused the spirit and significance of the occasion. Well-known artists Melody Ngurnunmawii and Joseph Lalhmangaihzuala have enriched the occasion with their Hindi songs and have received a standing ovation from the audience.
As was the occasion, it was Hindi all the way with once renowned Hindi national newsreader of DD News Lalrinsangi taking leading the proceedings of the function with her well accented Hindi.
