CGPWA (CENTRAL GOVT PENSIONERS WELFARE ASSOCIATION SRINAGAR CHAPTER)in association with Foundation World School at Humhama near Srinagar International Airport held an impressive student -senior Citizen informal interaction which started at 11 inthe morning & culminated after Duher Namaz.
Former ADG DD Dr.Rafeeq Masoodi welcomed the gathering & said:.need of the hour is to bridge the gap between yesyerday(senior citizens) & today(Genext) & this initiative of CGPWA is a beginning to let our kids know the cultural,political,social,religious & literary history & ethos of Kashmir. This connect is important to fill gap of time between yesterday & today...there is lot to say about our past which is not in books,but only oral history & events like this make our Genext to connect with the past.
Today two speakers Nurul Hassan Rufai & GH Kango both senior IFS(Indian forest service) retired officers shared their professional & personal experiences with the young students of Foundation. Mr. Rufai touched oral -history of Kashmir while Mr. Kango cautioned about the fast degrading ecological balances & its hazards thereafter. Students asked questions & interacted with the speakers. Later senior journalist Gawhar Gilani gave an illustrative lecture on "oral history"& its methodology.

GN Kanth thanked management & speakers & audience present viz MS Pandit, SS Wazir, Mushtaq Sadiq,Abdal Mahjur,Qayum Wadwdra ,M Subhan Lone, Sayeed Ahmed Sayeed, Javed Bedar,GM Wani, BAMir, BA Dar, senior journalist Yousuf Jamil ,B'caster Shamshad Kralwari & faculty from IUST & other schools..The impact was today's programme is expected tremendous & is hoped to be continued in future too. Mushtaq Sadiq conducted the programme very ably & aptly..
