Dil Se: MP CM Shivraj follows PM, to launch radio chat show

After almost a year of its announcement, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will begin his radio chat show, similar to that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat', from August 13. The show will be monthly and named as "Dil Se", with a tag "Shivraj Ki Apno Se Apni Baat". It will be aired through All India Radio (AIR) from 6 pm to 6.30 pm. "This is a unique programme to interact with the public and share views. The programme has been named 'Dil Se' to reflect the inner voice. It will be aired through Aakashwani," said principal secretary, S K Mishra, CM, Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, the half-an-hour programme was planned to be aired from November 1, the foundation day of Madhya Pradesh, with a name "Shiv Samvad". But, the idea and name were changed after discussions on the purpose of the chat. CM Chouhan had himself disclosed this in August 2016 saying, "I wish to share my views with the public and hope to get a feedback too". Now, with so many public issues in hand, the chief minister thought it better to launch the programme before Independence Day, from August 13, said sources in the Mantralaya.

Public including youth, women, farmers, labourers and traders will be the target audience and chief minister will raise issues related to welfare and development besides, basic problems and commitments. In Madhya Pradesh, more than 95% of population has an access to radio, be it through government-run All-India Radio (AIR) or any private FM radio station. The private radio stations will be allowed to broadcast recording of chief minister's address as and when they choose it, officials said. Officials believe radio is chosen as a medium owing to its wider reach. After radio, the government aims to broadcast the programme through television channels specially, in small towns and village panchayats, which have cable network," disclosed the officials.

Shivraj Singh is not the only chief minister following footsteps of Prime Minister Modi, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh had already started his radio talk in Chhattisgarhi dialect called 'Raman Ke Goth' (Raman's talk).
