Dr. Prabha Paranjpe, 84 years came all the way to Akashvani, Shivajinagar, Pune to donate a Radio set for distribution to the warkaries (People, who walk on foot for 18 days upto Pandharpur, in the grand procession – Ashadhi Wari). Even at 84, she goes to her clinic, which she is running since 1966. She is probably the first women to drive the scooter on streets of Pune, with driving licence issued in 1956. It was great receiving blessings from such a lady, whose gift of one radio set was worth 100.
Akashvani Pune for the last two years is deputing two Raths ( Studios on wheels), who travel with the wari all along the path and record the sentiments of the event, which involves more than 12 lakh people from all shades of life.
This year the Pramukh Vishvast ( Chief Trustee) of Dehu and Alandi Sansthan, while lauding the broadcasts of Akashvani Pune, appealed to the public to donate Radio sets to the warkaries, who can listen to the wari coverage on way. Next day, Shri RN shitole committed 51 Radio sets and Sh. Raghunath Dukandar 15 and the radio rain is on. Donors have to just contact on 9850642893 or 9922188464 or Alandi or Dehu Sansthan.
