Shri Vijay Sonwane Technician, Akashvani Pune has been deputed Zonal Chairperson, Lions Club International District 3234 D2. He will take over the charge with effect from 1.07.2017. Shri Sonwane has been associated with Lions Club International from 2012. He is the Charter Secretary of Lions club of Pune Aakanksha. Major activities undertaken by his home club are collection and redistribution of old cloths to the needy, Distribution of white canes to our blind friends and Nirmalyadaan ( work to protract the environment and rivers ). In one of the major project, they have adopted an orphanage of 220 children from I to X standard situated at Katharaj, Pune.
He has been a regular blood donor having donated blood for 80 times. He has been awarded the title and trophy of MJF ( Melvin Jones Fellow, named after founder of Lions club International) for his outstanding contributions for the social cause.Best wishes from Prasar Bharati parivar for continence of this noble work for the benefit of humanity.
