Masood Hussain fondly remembers the 1970s and '80s in his native Kashmir – a place that was peaceful and verdant, where the now 64 -year-old artist could interact with visiting artists from around the world and paint landscapes.Masood Hussain, one of Kashmir's most renowned artists, described how his work has taken a darker tone after three decades of unrest.
A paper on life and work of Mr.Hussain was delivered by Mr.G N Shakir.Later guests inter acted with artist. The renowned artist was felicitated at the event & presented with a shawl and citation. Mr.Sayed Humayun Qaisar Program Head rued about official neglect of artist community and lack of private patronage of art.He called Mr.Hussain most celebrated modern painter of J&K after G R Santosh.The event was attended by galaxy of artists,students and fans of Mr.Hussain.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr.Satish Vimal while the program was conducted by Mr.Rasheed Nizami.
