Government of Andhra Pradesh felicitated and given an award to Shri Vankayala Venakata Ramana Murthy, Grade-I Staff Artist (Mridangam) on 08.04.2016 on the eve of Telugu New Year "UGADI" The prestigious Andhra Pradesh State Award(UGADI PURASKARAM) in the field of Classical Music, conferred by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 08.04.2016 at a grand function at Vijayawada. Shri Ramana Murthy is Top Grade artist in Mridangam. He performed may concerts at International Level. Two times he gave the concerts in the United Nations General Assembly. Shri Ramana Murthy is the First person from AIR, Visakhapatnam to receive such a prestigious award from Government of Andhra Pradesh.
