The three-day workshop on "Social Media Platform for Broadcasting" started on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 at RABM(P), Thiruvananthapuram. The Workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Radhakrishnan.S, ADP, RABMP. Smt. Lekha Gopal, PEX welcomed the participants.
PEXs and TREXs belonging to various All India Radio Stations and Doordarshan Kendras in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Port Blair and Kerala are participating in the Workshop. Topics such as "Social Media” “the World as One”, “Promoting Content Marketing through Social Media”, “Do’s & Don’t ’s with Social Media in Broadcast”, “Blog, Post, Face book, Twitter”, “Commercial aspects”, “Listener friendly Broadcast” (Innovative, thought sharing session by the participants)” etc... are being dealt with during the three days. Ample chances are being provided for the participants to get themselves involved in the new media like Websites, Blogs, Apps, Wikis, Email, E Books, Podcast, Social networks, Streaming videos, Streaming musics etc.

An awareness of the democratization of knowledge and information transforming our broadcasters from “Content consumers” to “Content producers” through social interaction using highly accessible publishing techniques in social media is the target of the workshop. Shri.K.Gunasekhara, Former DD(P), CRD, Bangalore is the Course Coordinator. Shri.K.K.Krishna Kumar, Former Assistant Director (Technical Sciences), SIL, Thiruvananthapuram, Shri.K.Sabarish, Head, Information System Division, Kerala State Council for Science and Technology, and Shri.Ratheesh R Menon, Freelance Web Designer, Blogger and Cyber Technology Expert, are the other Faculty members of the Course which will come to an end on Friday, the 24th of March.
