AIR Mangaluru celebrated Radio Kisan Diwas of 15th February 2017 .....,

All India Radio, Mangaluru in collaboration with Krishi Vichara Vinimaya Kendra, Moodubidre and MCS Bank, Moodubidre, celebrated Radio Kisan Diwas on 15th February 2017 at ‘Kalpavruksha Sabhangana’,Moodubidre.

Sri.Bahubali Prasad, Director, MCS Bank, Moodubidre inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and switching on the radio. In his inaugural speech he commended the role of All India Radio, Kisanvani programme in particular, in the development of Agriculture of the region. He stressed the need for updating our knowledge so as to keep in pace with the developments in agriculture. Dr.H.Kempe Gowda, Joint Director of Agriculture of Dakshina Kannda District spoke on the occasion and stressed the need for optimum utilization of resources including soil, nutrient and water for sustainable development. He also highlighted the importance of soil health card and crop insurance.

Rajaverma Bailangady, President of Krishi Vichara Vinimaya Kendra, Moodubidre, insisted on regular listening of radio kisanvani programme to know recent developments in agriculture and he opined that it is a forum for sharing farmers experiences. G.Rameshchandran, Deputy Director(Engineerig) graced the occasion.


Smt.Ushalatha.S, Assistant Director(Programme) of AIR,MANGALURU chaired the function and in her speech highlighted the role played by AIR in rural development and listeners need to utilize the radio programme for their own betterment.

Dr.Sadananda Holla, Programme Executive(Co-Ordination),in his introductory remarks stressed the need for Akashvani programmes in deveoloping rural economy. Progressive famer Smt. and Sri.Jaya Chandra Rao ,Kurdel were falicitated on this occasion.T.Shyam Prasad, Programme Executive(Kisanvani) compered the programme and thanked the dignitaries and the gathering.

After the inauguration, seminar was held on various issues like how to double the agriculture output in vegetable and pepper crops, value addition and processing of fruits, farmers experiences in poultry farming, cocoa and paddy cultivation and radio kisanvani listeners experiences. More than 250 farmers attended the days function.
