Doordarshan is telecasting news related to sports, traffic and meteorological information along with the various programmes besides promoting local culture of Chhattisgarh, said Director of Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Amit Katoch while addressing the two-day Community Radio Awareness Workshop held here on Wednesday. In Community Radio, the telecast of advertisement has been extended for seven minutes per hour whereas the subsidy has been raised from 50 per cent to 75 per cent for basic infrastructure and equipment too, he said.
Kotach said that the Central Government has been providing several facilities to promote Community Radio Stations in remote areas. Deputy Director Inderjeet Grewal informed about the process for opening Community Radio Station. Pooja Murada shared information related to operating Community Radio Station. President of Community Radio Association Ashok Singh too expressed his views on the occasion.
