Following the Sunday blast, AIR Imphal staff also resolved not to cover any news related with the ongoing Sangai festival. However, today afternoon, with Gaikhangam giving his word, and an amicable solution having reached, authorities of AIR Imphal agreed to revoke its earlier stand and agreed to broadcast news related with the 10-day long Sangai festival, the largest in the state. The venue of Sangai festival is located in front of the AIR Imphal complex. The blast which happened on Sunday last led to stepping up security measures with low ranked Manipur police personnel denying entry of AIR Imphal staff to office despite showing their identity cards.
