Dr.(Mrs.) Tejinder Varshney Assistant Director & Head of the Programme wing of Doordarshan Kendra Allahabad retired on 31.10.2016 after serving the electronic media of AIR & Doordarshan for 33 years on Govt. service.She has started her career in All India Radio as TREX in 1983, then selected as PEX from UPSC in 1991. Prior to this she started her journey from AIR Gorakhpur in 1974-1975 since inception of AIR Gorakhpur as casual announcer & drama artist. She was a renowned drama artist of stage and AIR both. Her mentor was Prof. (Mrs) Girish Rastogi , who was a professor in Gorakhpur University and famous Drama Director. Dr. Varshney won several awards for best actress in her time.
She has produced many prestigious programmes for All India Radio & Doordarshan; many of them were broadcast from National channel of AIR & TV. She completed her graduation, post graduation & doctorate from Gorakhpur University, Banaras Hindu University & University of Allahabad respectively.
