DD to carry messages to security forces

Based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s outreach to Army soldiers and paramilitary forces, ‘Sandesh to Soldiers’ which encourages people to write in on his portal, MyGov.in and to the public broadcaster Doordarshan to express their solidarity with the forces, Doordarshan will be devising programmes around people’s messages to soldiers.

The outreach is expected to impact at least 10 crore people. Apart from Mr. Modi, several celebrities are also expected to endorse this campaign that will run for the next ten days till Diwali. “Prime Minister spent Diwali of 2014 with the people of J&K after the devastating floods there and 2015 with soldiers posted at Siachen. This year too he wanted to mark Diwali for people who may not be able to join their families for this festival,” according to a source in the Prime Minister’s Office.
