Doordarshan Kendra , Calcutta, then located in the old Radha Film studio I. Tollygunge near the tram Depot, was the first television centre where I worked only for a few months. The then Director Ms. MIra Mozoomdar and Supdtg Engineer PT Srinivasan and a host of old colleagues like. Abhijit Dasgupta were extremely nice to me in learning the initial lessons of television. We had run across a dear old colleague of mine in Payyanur College, Shanta Menon and he husband Purushothaman who made life very pleasant for us in Calcutta.We are still looking for their contact details. Feeling one with the City of Joy
My first posting with national broadcaster Doordarshan was at Calcutta in 1977. A friend wired about a booked flat, and so my wife and three year-old son accompanied me from Kerala to Kolkata. Our luggage, which we sent through a packers and movers company, reached us — you won’t believe it — just a week prior to my transfer to Chennai after a five-month stint in Kolkata!................
